July Fourth is a fantastic celebration for kids to learn about and enjoy! Here are FOUR ideas to make this Independence Day extra special: 𝟏. 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐲 ✂️ Make flags, stars, or hats using craft materials. Decorating bikes, wagons, or scooters for a neighborhood parade adds to the fun. 𝟐. 𝐆𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 🎊 Check local events for parades, concerts, or fairs happening nearby. Or, for a fun alternative, have a patriotic picnic or barbecue with family and friends. Organize traditional games like sack races, tug-of-war, or a water balloon toss. 𝟑. 𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 🍰 Bake cookies with flag designs, or make fruit skewers with strawberries🍓, blueberries 🫐, and marshmallows in patriotic colors. 𝟒. 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 📖 Find age-appropriate books about American history or stories that celebrate the values of freedom and independence. Teach kids about why July Fourth is important.
