Today on International Day of Friendship, we consider the value of friendships formed during Early Years and School Age Care days. There is a lot of research outlining the benefits of making friends. Early peer relationships play a unique and important role in the social and emotional development of children and to their cognitive and language development. Did the hard thing: • Went to Argentina 10 times from 2004 -2008. •Complete Immersion during my trips •Found conversation groups in US •Developed a daily routine We speak Spanish and French Daily at Home and English with our community. What started as hard for me now is daily life, and I don't even think about it. People always ask how we do it, and the answer is, " The Nelsons do hard things. " Every day is not easy; there are many dictionaries in our house, and we love it. Introducing the NestingPlay Unlocking Fun: Revamped Traditional Games for Kids with behavioural challenges, DIY Style Playbook! This week, we are participating in a program organized at a refugee camp in Lesbos, Greece. In this highly impacted area, we are launching our new product, the Playbook, which aims to develop essential competencies for successful school integration through play. The entire NestingPlay method, including the Playbook, is grounded in the child's natural environment: play. We believe, and our experience has shown, that play is the most effective tool to "rewire" children's brains and facilitate successful integration. This is especially important for refugee children who arrive at camps with various traumas, developmental delays, and under considerable stress.
