The #ethCC main conference in Paris is already over. Here are my top 5 key takeaways from this encouraging event. 👇 1 / Account Abstraction (AA) Clearly the number one topic of the conference was Account Abstraction, (modular) smart wallets, and a lot of emphasis on UX in general. This is a very good sign as it indicates that the space is preparing for the next big wave of user adoption. 2 / Zero-Knowledge Proofs Many talks and protocols were on the topic of ZKPs. ZKPs are primarily used for enhancing privacy and anonymity by allowing users to prove certain statements are true without revealing any other information. It can also be leveraged for scalability. 3 / Liquid Staking Derivatives (LSDs) <> LayerZero I had some discussions with LSD issuers / $ETH staking providers and asked for their main concerns / challenges. This is what they answered 👇 The LSD market is highly competitive and a lot revolves around fee optimizations, aiming for more decentralization in terms of validator choices (keyword: permissionless staking), and the potential implications of re-staking. ❗Re-staking = potentially more yield and RISK 4 / Community & Developer on-boarding Voter apathy within DAO communities is a clear problem of almost all DAOs. Dedicated protocols try to solve it at larger scale. From application layer products up to the core Ethereum Foundation dev team, all are looking for active contributors. 5 / Token Engineering (TE) It was encouraging to see the fast growing and vibrant #TokenEngineering community. We had a dedicated track for a whole day, hosted by TokenEngineering Academy with Angela Kreitenweis. We saw many top notch speakers within that track. If you want to learn more on how we make the complex topic of TE accessible through lightweight tools for early #Web3 start-ups, then be encouraged to watch my talk here and/or contact me: https://lnkd.in/eYsWwhwe Wrap-Up The bottom line of the conference for me was that the space is clearly maturing and focusing on more user-adoption. Infrastructures and products become more robust while the UX improves. Overall the conference and conversations made me very optimistic on #crypto.
