Last week, our Director of Sustainability Alexandre de Joybert joined a round table discussion at Brussels South Charleroi Airport about Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). Charleroi Airport together with Wizz Air, Moeve and Airbus engaged in the so-called Lighthouse Project to bring SAF at the busiest Walloon airport in quantities well above the amounts mandated by the European Commission. While EU SAF mandates are a significant step forward in reassuring investors, further action is needed to ensure SAF availability and affordability. A few days ago, Wizz Air, Airbus, Moeve, ACI EUROPE and Brussels South Charleroi Airport held a round table discussion at Charleroi Airport on the subject of SAF (Sustainability Aviation Fuel). The environmental managers from the various companies discussed the SAF tests that took place a few weeks ago on the Charleroi-Budapest route, the passenger survey, SAF technology and its environmental impact, as well as operational procedures. You can watch the round table here ⬇️ .
