🌟 Firing Up the MSC Cruises South Africa Team with “Overcoming Your Average”! 🌟 What an incredible day spent with the dedicated and passionate team at MSC Cruises South Africa as they gear up for their busiest season of the year! It was an honor to deliver my talk, “Overcoming Your Average”, and inspire the team to rise above challenges, embrace excellence, and go the extra mile to create unforgettable experiences for their passengers. In my talk, I shared insights about: Resilience: Thriving even when the pressure is on. Teamwork: The importance of supporting each other to achieve extraordinary results. Today, I’m feeling both humbled and grateful as I reflect on my journey with flydubai. In less than two years, I’ve been fortunate to be part of an organization that not only recognizes its employees but genuinely values them. Recently, I received a Team Champion certificate — a recognition I’m proud of — but it was something that happened today that really reminded me of the true power of appreciation. One of the GHA porters approached me with a simple “thank you.” At first, I wasn’t sure what he was referring to, but he explained that a few months ago, I sent an email of appreciation for his hard work. Because of that, he received a small monetary reward. He wanted to thank me personally, saying that, while it may have been a small amount to most people, it meant the world to him. I had completely forgotten about that appreciation I sent, but hearing how much it impacted him really struck me. It wasn’t about the money — it was about feeling seen, valued, and acknowledged. A small gesture from me made a huge difference in his experience at work. This moment was a powerful reminder: while formal recognition is important, the real impact often comes from the everyday moments of appreciation we share with one another. A simple “thank you” or a word of encouragement can go much further than we realize. In this case, that small act of appreciation not only motivated him to continue giving his best but also reminded me how much we can lift each other up with just a few kind words. Small gestures can create ripple effects that we might never fully see — but they matter. I’m incredibly grateful for the recognition I’ve received from my company, but today, I’m even more thankful for the reminder that true appreciation is about the connections we make and the small moments of acknowledgment that often have the biggest impact. #flydubaiwithme #flydubai #appreciation #ramplife

It is indeed sunset for UK, a brand that stood for hospitality and service in current times! Every time and era has a new icon, as Air India once was in the top 3 worldwide for more than a decade under stewardship of JRD, both in person and in spirit. This was despite the baggage of being a public sector, with ministerial and bureaucratic oversight, control, and downright interference to the lowest levels. Air India also competed with the best in every direction it flew, whether it was BOAC becoming BA, or AF, CX, QF, AA, PA, LH, IT, IB, KQ, QR, ET, EK, KE, JAL, NZ, and SQ itself, besides several more! Such heights require a different level of capability, personnel, dedication, and effort, that hopefully will come back to a large extent! Only time will answer it. That Indian aviation is soaring, after failing a few times in history, where many airlines had to reinvent, rechristen, change onwnership/s. Many good brands have fallen, for one reason or another! Vistara was to return to profitability with post-pandemic revenge travel, running losses since inception before its inflection point towards profitability. The difference onboard was starkly in Vistara’s favour, as was the ethos! Fortunately, for sometime the AI2 prefix allows some to get to choose Vistara flights. Even the aircraft exterior will take time to get repainted, keeping memories refreshed a bit longer. After old Air India (till late 70s), it was Jet, and then a sprightly Kingfisher, followed by a primmer Vistara that served the travelers well. Kudos for a job well done Vistarians! Best wishes for a bright future in a larger organisation💐 It is a fitting tribute that UK merges into AI and still maintains its aura in their new flight numbering scheme, which eventually should also disappear, as AI combine ups its game in the coming years! Too often in business, we view competition through a narrow lens, fixating on our direct rivals and the pursuit of market dominance. I was thinking about this during my recent time in Portugal where I gave a keynote to PepsiCo’s SodaStream International, Ltd.’s division. On the trip, my husband and I joined a group ebike tour through the Douro Valley. Among us, however, was a guest who was on a different wavelength. A seasoned biker, he mistook our leisurely ebike tour for the Tour De France. He surged ahead, leaving the rest of us trailing in his dust. As we wound our way through the vineyards, I couldn't help but marvel at how his relentless pursuit of “winning” the ebike tour caused him to miss out on the true essence of the experience—the camaraderie, the laughter, the shared moments of awe at the beautiful scenery. It was a poignant reminder of how our fixation on competition can blind us to the beauty of the journey, and to the needs of those around us. What would it feel like to cast aside the shackles of narrow-minded competition and fix our sights on a more compelling and formidable opponent? Like climate change.
