On Monday, the Office of Management and Budget issued a memo requiring a “temporary pause” of all federal fund disbursements, including already appropriated federal grants and loans, and a mandatory review of all funded agencies and programs. It has since been rescinded, but we expect similar actions in the coming weeks and months. We do not yet know what changes lie ahead for legal aid organizations, and the uncertainty is challenging. But we want to assure you: Ascend Justice is still here. We will continue as we always have, serving and advocating for survivors. While we continue to diversify our funding streams (as we are partially funded by the federal government), we remain steadfast. We are reaching out to our supporters today because YOU can play a role in helping us continue to serve the most vulnerable people in our community. By making a donation today (https://lnkd.in/d6VpSc3r) or by committing to becoming a part of our Sustainer Circle through monthly donations (https://lnkd.in/g3GYirQc), you can help us ensure that while the federal government figures out what it’s doing, we can continue helping the individuals and families who need us. This is not the first time we have faced challenges, and it won’t be the last. Over the next few years, it will take our entire community to show up for survivors and to stand up for the values we hold dear. If you can help, please consider contributing today. #TogetherWeAscend

At North Paddington Foodbank, we believe that dignity should be at the heart of any aid effort. Our cash-first model isn’t just about providing financial assistance - it’s about empowering families to make decisions that are right for them. 🎯 Meet Emily, a local resident who reached out to NFPB for help when her husband left, making her a single mother to three children in addition to being a carer to her elderly parents. 🛒 By offering cash-first support, we give people like Emily the freedom to budget, plan, and make decisions that best meet their specific needs. 💬 It’s more than food—it’s about giving people the power of choice. This is what makes North Paddington Foodbank different, and we’re proud to be a part of a movement that restores dignity to food aid. 👉 Help us continue empowering families like Emily with the freedom to choose. Your donations make this possible. #DignityInAid #CashFirstCharity #FoodAidInnovation #EmpowermentThroughChoice #NorthPaddingtonFoodbank #ImpactStories

It’s incredible how coaching work can open doors to deeper understanding of the systemic challenges organizations like CRHE are tackling. The issue of homeschooled individuals lacking access to essential documents like birth certificates or social security numbers is something most people probably wouldn’t think about—but it has far-reaching implications for their autonomy and future opportunities. Legislation to bring more oversight to homeschooling not only supports accountability but also protects the rights of homeschooled children. It’s powerful work that resonates with CRHE’s mission, and it’s such a pleasure to help build internal strategy that supports their impact.
Sarah’s story is devastating. But unfortunately, it isn’t uncommon. Too many homeschooled people are struggling to live independent lives because their parents refused to give them birth certificates or Social Security numbers. That’s why we want to create a free resource to help homeschooled people get these vital IDs. Over the past 11 years, we’ve helped many homeschooled people start the process. A new resource would empower them to get more help even faster. But we can’t do this without you. By becoming a monthly donor, you give us the support we need to make resources for our community. We’re looking to raise $250 in new monthly gifts by January 1, and every dollar makes a difference. Give today: https://lnkd.in/eYP8ZdSF

As you celebrate Independence Day, remember that we have a long way to go to achieve and protect the independence and freedom for the citizens in our country. For victims and survivors of domestic violence, independence often feels intangible. For them, independence means many things, such as owning their own bank account, housing, accessible transportation, buying groceries, and much, much more. CAWC does everything we can to make all of these milestones possible for our clients and families working to rid their lives of abuse. Through counseling, life skills classes, in-kind donations, and more, we are an essential support system to help adults and families rebuild their lives. To learn more about CAWC and what we do, visit www.cawc.org. #IndependenceDay #FourthOfJuly #Independence #EndDomesticViolence
