The effective generation, storage and use of hydrogen as an environmentally neutral fuel is a relevant factor in the process of decarbonisation. Bipolar plates play an important role here. They are one of the core components of PEM electrolyzers and fuel cells, which are in high demand especially in future mobility applications. ❓ What makes our system special? Our Laser Welding Cell (LWC) connects the thin metal foils to bipolar plates very precisely at high welding speed. The Butterfly Weld process ensures excellent weld seam quality, minimal distortion and low waste. This enables an annual production of several million pieces of bipolar plates, which can power cars in hydrogen fuel cells.

An Israeli company has developed a nanomaterial-based industrial additives that allow for achieving lightweight and sustainable materials — making it an ideal component for enhancing the properties of plastics used in planes, trains, and yes even automobiles. The proprietary additives developed by Petah Tikva-based Nemo Nanomaterials can be mass produced in order to supplement a large range of parts. The additives are based on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). VP Business Development Jonathan Antebi says he and co-founder and CEO Alexander Zinigrad began to develop the CNTs-based additives after realizing the potential of existing nanomaterial to enhance various kinds of plastics and other industrial material. “We established Nemo to take the promise of nanocarbons and bring it into industrial reality,” Antebi tells NoCamels. “A team of experts – of engineering, mechanical plastics, chemistry – enabled us to take an idea and convert it into actual up-and-running technology,” he says. #nanomaterials #nanocarbons #industrialadditives #additives #israelinnovation #israelitech #plastics
