What an absolute honour to be part of an extremely productive multi-stakeholder 'Sarawak Cervical Cancer Elimination Programme' (SCCEP) workshop! It was exciting and encouraging to witness the alignment between all the different entities represented at this first workshop, particularly on the need to address the myths and misconceptions surrounding HPV, the importance of linkage to care and finally on the need of a live screening registry. There was an acknowledgement that we needed to prepare the 'third pillar'(follow-up)with before scaling HPV testing, adopting different models of 'screening and follow-up' in Sarawak and the importance of community engagement. A representative from the Sarawak Ministry of Education provided some statistics on girls who attended primary and secondary education, supporting the move towards vaccinating girls in primary school instead. Personally, as part of the team from ROSE Foundation, I am humbled to be included in this initiative. I look forward to exciting times ahead as I witnessed political commitment being converted to actionable small steps towards a 'cervical cancer free Sarawak' ROSE FOUNDATION Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC) National Cancer Society Malaysia
