Product Managers aren’t just task-jugglers or data-driven decision-makers; we’re creators. We’re constantly thinking, “What will make this product truly connect with our audience? How can we bring more value, more relatability, and a bit of delight?” - Thinking Like Our Customers: The best products come from thinking outside the “business as usual” box. As PMs, we dive deep into our customers’ world to figure out what they need and want – often even before they do! I believe that seeing things from the customer’s perspective is key. It’s about building products that feel approachable and are actually helpful. - Data, Market Research, and a Dash of Creativity: Sure, we lean on data, run surveys, and keep up with trends, but what really makes a difference is adding that creative spark. That’s where true relatability comes in. People want products that feel human, not just perfectly functional. - Creativity Meets Business Growth: Being creative as a PM isn’t just about cool features; it’s about strategic growth. Project, Program, and Product Managers—Don’t Just Say “No” to Scope Creep! We’ve all been there. You’re approaching the end of a development cycle, ready to celebrate a major milestone, and then bam💥 —a key stakeholder introduces a new idea that wasn’t part of the original plan. It’s exciting, but it doesn’t fit your current timeline, and incorporating it would require major changes. The knee-jerk reaction? “No, sorry, we can’t make that work.” And while that’s a perfectly reasonable response—it helps protect the timeline ⏳, budget 💰, and quality 💎 — it can leave stakeholders feeling unheard or frustrated. Here’s a better approach: Instead of a flat-out “no,” respond with “here’s what it would take.” 👐 1️⃣ Work with your team to explore how the idea might fit. 2️⃣ Identify the trade-offs: Would the timeline need to shift? Would you need extra resources? Would you need to deprioritize other scope items—and still shift the timeline and add resources? 3️⃣ Present options to the stakeholder, along with your recommendation. Even if the idea doesn't move forward, this approach shows you’re being thoughtful and collaborative. Stakeholders may still feel disappointed, but they’re more likely to trust you and feel empowered by having a clear picture of what’s possible. ⚠️ A quick caveat: Don’t let this process derail your team.
