Hydrogen is the future 🌿| Experience in testing SOFC & development of PEMFC | Skilled in product & Project development.
Solid oxide electrolyzers (SOEC) are highly efficient for producing hydrogen compared to other types of electrolyzers such as PEM, Alkaline, and AEM. Integrating the system with the industrial heat will further improve efficiency and high temperature reduces the electrical energy required for the electrolysis as part of energy comes from thermal energy. However, despite their efficiency, they are known for being costly and having a slower response time when starting up or shutting down the system. The operational temperature for SOEC is around 700 - 1000°C, which requires advanced materials capable of withstanding higher temperatures. To learn more about the research and development on SOEC and the feasibility of adapting this technology by integrating industrial resources for better hydrogen production, I am attending a webinar by Mission Hydrogen with a speaker, Rob Braun, tomorrow. This morning in Washington, D.C., the Open Hydrogen Initiative (OHI) convened hydrogen experts from the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA), Clean Air Task Force, Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub, and the AFL-CIO to discuss the challenges facing implementation of 45V U.S. Clean Hydrogen Production Tax Credit and the need for data-driven policies to ensure a robust, clean hydrogen future. Consider doing both (1) the traditional “tailpipe” emissions 💨 analysis and (2) an informational-only analysis of the well-to-wheel (lifecycle) emissions.
