Denmark: Tying up Nicotine: New Selective Competitive Antagonist of the Neuronal Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors (2015) Some historical research on nicotine analogs and the R-enantiomer: "Conformational restriction of the pyrrolidine nitrogen in nicotine by the introduction of an ethylene bridge provided a potent and selective antagonist of the α4β2-subtype of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Resolution by chiral SFC, pharmacological characterization of the two enantiomers, and determination of absolute configuration via enantioselective synthesis showed that the pharmacological activity resided almost exclusively in the (R)-enantiomer." https://lnkd.in/gxVQATWm

Happy to share our new publication in AAPSPharmSciTech focusing on the multicomponent amorphous solid forms of Telmisartan. The inherent issue of thermodynamic stability and rapid precipitation during aqueous solubility can be overcome by developing multicomponent amorphous solid forms of Telmisartan with small molecule such as amino acids. Besides, plausible mechanism of mechanochemical activation as well as surface characterization of intrinsic dissolution compacts offer valuable insights in rationalizing its role in augmentation in physicochemical attributes.
