Today (September 17) is World Patient Safety Day. The World Health Organization WHO has chosen diagnostics as the theme of this year's World Patient Safety Day. Diagnostics refers to the means by which a person's state of health is ascertained. Developing and strengthening team skills and a psychologically safe environment enables open communication, creation of common goals, mutual respect and understanding across professional and team boundaries. These things can be practiced and developed using simulation, so that the patient receives the best possible and safest treatment. This represents the core ethos of our APSLC; learn it safely. The colour orange symbolizes the central role patient safety plays in countries' efforts to achieve universal health coverage.
