Challenges Faced: #Terrain: The expressway passes through high mountains and hazardous terrain, including 12 seismic fault zones, requiring innovative engineering solutions. #Seismic Activity: Located in a region with intense earthquake activity, the construction had to account for potential seismic events. #Environmental Concerns: Building an expressway in such a sensitive environment posed risks to the local ecosystem. #Weather Conditions: The area is known for its rapidly changing weather, which can make construction and maintenance difficult. #Engineering Solutions: The project involved constructing 270 viaducts and 25 tunnels, including two extra-long tunnels and 16 long tunnels, which presented significant engineering challenges.
