During my decade in law enforcement and since leaving in 2022 and starting BlueGovTech, I have been fortunate to find success in constantly looking for better ways to do things. I never was a fan of the "this is just the way we do it" answer. Over the past year, this mentality has encouraged my team and I to evaluate a problem law enforcement agencies across the United States are experiencing... recruiting & staffing. Problem: How do we appeal to a new generation of potential candidates and increase the number of applicants for every career path within law enforcement, so we can avoid burnout and increase community safety? ThinBlueLineCareers is the product of months of digging into how to attack this problem. 1. Availability: Make an online platform, which is completely free for agencies to create a profile. 2. Content: Create a way for agencies to highlight their collateral duties, benefits, programs, teams, and other attributes. Then create a search so potential candidates can search for agencies by location and by elements that meet their career ambitions. You want to find an agency that offers a full-time SWAT Team, Drone/UAS Team, 12-weeks parental leave, and a take home car... we can do that. 3. Recruiting Tools: Whether your agency has a single "recruiting contact" or if you have a team, chances are you and Excel are either best friends or worst enemies. We wanted to create a streamlined process for potential candidates to reach out to agencies they're interested in and for agencies to manage these contacts. And as outlined in the image below, I think we have created a great solution for this, including email automations and a full contact management system. 4. Cost: When determining our price, we wanted to avoid cost being a barrier for as many agencies as possible. Understanding we wanted to also generate enough revenue to keep the platform constantly improving and also support marketing/advertising efforts for all career paths in law enforcement. The result, a $950/year all inclusive pricing plan. We invite you to visit https://lnkd.in/gih9q7N3 to take a 5-minute virtual Platform Tour to explore our features and create a free agency profile.

I would like to thank all those who applied for the Community Manager position that was recently available at Dytomic. We hired two exceptional candidates and I'm looking forward to working with them in 2025! For those who weren't selected for the position, I would like to thank you very much for taking the time and interest to apply for the job. There were over 300 applicants from which around 90 were qualified. I took the time to review every single qualified applicant in detail and the final decision wasn't an easy one. On another note, here's some feedback on how some of you can improve your application process for future job opportunities at any company: - Actually take the time to look into the company to see if you even want to work there. Do you believe in what the company is doing? Do you like what the company is doing? Do you want to do what the job is asking? - Read the job post! A great majority of applicants don't even read the job description and it shows. - Review your resume. Often times links in the document are broken and CV submitted as unnamed word document which isn't a good look (it shows no effort). - Create a resume tailored to the position you are applying for.

There are an incredible number of U.S. Election posts on LinkedIn - does that make you uncomfortable? This is a platform that most join for job search/posting and professional development. It isn't surprising that some folks might be uncomfortable publicly posting about their preferred candidate. But you can sure as heck bet that lots of folks are reading these political posts and strolling through the comments to see how their network is responding. In lurker literacies, we call this mediated lurking. Some folks work in the public sector in roles that require a "neutral" approach and fear professional reprimand. They engage in protective curation (lurking, but not publicly posting or engaging with political topics to maintain their employment). Whether or not you decide to publicly post about the election, you might be trying to make sense of the current political landscape and your lurk views will contribute to how the algorithm feeds you information. Keep that in mind as you read. Pic below is the Children's Museum of Manhattan, which has a fun exhibit with a replica of the Oval Office.

Received an overwhelming response on my last post—so many of you reached out, revealing just how widespread the issue is. While I can't reply to everyone individually, I want to share some valuable resources. Here are a few folks who commented and are eager to help: - Vinay Shukla has made the transition himself and is happy to help folks looking to transition. - Danielle Coleman writes on LinkedIn about how to break into product counsel roles, shares relevant openings on her page, and more → Give her a follow! Also, we’re hiring at SpotDraft across roles. Specifically for our sales team—those of you interested in transitioning to a sales role, I encourage you to apply. [Disclaimer: These are entry-level roles but have a lot of potential for growth.] Additionally, joining in-house legal communities can be a game-changer: - In-House Connect - Legal Operators - The L Suite (TechGC) - Legal Ops Uncensored These communities are full of supportive folks who can help you navigate your career path. All the best!

I’m hiring at Traffit for a Community Manager. What does that really mean? At Traffit we like to give value first so we can continue to build trust in our industry. As a community manager in Traffit you have to have two core elements. 1. You need to know recruiting. Because your goal is to help people. To bring value. 2. You need to know how to distribute your knowledge and create network. You have to enjoy going to where people are. Both offline and online. The ideal candidate is someone who already has experience in creating networks and sharing knowledge + has a good understanding about the pains of recruiting right now. I emphasize the right now part. The industry is changing and you need to be excited about that part :) Because new challenges pop up daily and we want to help solve them. We want to help relieve the challenges recruiting faces in 2024. So. If you read this and it you are smiling. Read the much better description created by Anika Osmólska in the comments. As standard salaries and benefits are there. If you read this and think ‘ewww no’. It’s ok. We are not for everyone :) Fluent English and Polish is a deal breaker. Hope to talk to some of you sooooooon!
