While both #postpartumdepression (PPD) and the baby blues can impact mood during the postpartum period, they can be differentiated by two key factors: severity and time to resolution. 1. Severity: Unlike PPD symptoms that are more severe and debilitating, baby blues symptoms are mild and will not affect a mother's ability to care for herself or her family. 2. Time to Resolution: While PPD may last months or even years if left untreated, baby blues symptoms typically peak during the first week postpartum and resolve without treatment within two weeks. Understanding the symptoms of PPD can be a pivotal step in learning how and when to ask for support. Remember, you are not alone, and help is within reach. Reach out to your healthcare provider for support. The Child Growth Awareness Day highlights the importance of height as an early warning signal for parents to know a child’s physical progress, health and overall well-being. Over 4000 disorders impact a child’s physical growth. Stunted growth or even growing too quickly or entering puberty too soon may signal a treatable medical condition. Growing at least 2’’ per year after the age of 3 until puberty is considered as normal growth. While maintaining normal growth pattern is a good indicator of child’s overall good health, tracking physical growth is crucial. Various growth charts, measurement of head circumference are used by many Peadiatricians to monitor growth.
