Serving on a non-profit board can be incredibly rewarding, but let's be honest – it's also a big commitment! Busy schedules, complex challenges, and the weight of responsibility – it's enough to make even the most dedicated leader feel overwhelmed. By asking the right questions during the board recruitment process, you can set the stage for a dynamic and engaged board that supports, not burdens, your non-profit's success. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 is a 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫: "What makes our mission meaningful to you?" Passion fuels commitment. Look for individuals who are genuinely invested in your organization's cause. By asking the right questions upfront, you can build a board that's not just qualified, but also passionate and engaged. Recruiters, employers, and advocates, we want to hear from you! 🌟 As a thank-you, I’m offering one nominated charity a free trustee or board member recruitment—ideal for charities that may lack time, budget, or in-house expertise for finding the next Trustee. Thanks, Melanie Francis Chartered FCIPD, for this great suggestion. Do you know a charity that matches this criterion and is looking to recruit a board member/trustee soon? How to Participate: 📌 Complete the survey – Share your insights to help drive neuroinclusive hiring. 📌 Nominate a charity by 1st December – DM me with your chosen charity’s details. 📌 If there are multiple nominations, I’ll draw the winning charity’s name out of a hat! 🎩 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eJgjzD4W #Neurodiversity #InclusiveHiring #BoardMemberRecruitment #ExecutiveSearch #HRRecruitment #CharitySupport #CommunityImpact #ChampionChange

👉How to minimise candidate dropouts in recruitment We're seeing an increase in charities contacting us following failed rounds of recruitment and the main reason is due to candidates dropping out of their processes. Plan the right timescales and advertise these from the beginning 2. If setting tasks or presentations make sure they are relevant to the job and take a reasonable amount of time 3. Keep candidate engagement high with real-time updates and feedback 4. Make sure that the advertised job description matches what you’re looking for at interview 5. Ask for candidate feedback at each stage And remember…..the candidate is interviewing you and your job as much as you’re interviewing them! 👉Please get in touch if you’d like to hear more of our top tips or help with recruitment/job searching in the not for profit sectors. #charity #fundraising #marketingrecruitment The Talent Set

Why are hybrid/flexible/remote working the hill so many organisations and charities are willing to make a stand on? Investing in your employees and their development, and incentivising their staying is beneficial to the charities' bottom line - and sometimes that means you have got to let them have autonomy and flexibility. 3R Strategy (2024) reported that research from Oxford Economics stated the average cost of replacing a single employee as over £30,000. This takes into consideration the impact on productivity, fees related to advertising, and agency fees as well as HR and management time. The cost increases congruently as the roles become more technical and senior, and that takes longer to recruit. So, sweeten the deal, focus on output and let workers achieve their best work where they see fit. #remotework #flexiblework #hybridwork #emplyeeretention
