Our colleague Longying embarked on his academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Henan Normal University in 2013. He then pursued a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry at Renmin University of China, focusing on iron-catalyzed allylic substitution reactions. In early 2021, Longying earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Technical University of Berlin in Germany. Researchers from the University of Münster developed a computer-assisted method to objectively select model substrates for evaluating new chemical reactions. This approach aims to improve the quality of chemical reaction data by considering the complexity and structural properties of real pharmaceutical compounds, thus addressing the subjective bias in substrate selection. 🚀Great news! We are delighted to share the collaboration between scientists from the Medicinal Chemistry Team at BioDuro and scientists at Pfizer. Together, they have published a peer-reviewed paper on 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨, introducing a novel method for synthesizing heterocycles via Rhodium (III)-catalyzed C−H activation. 🔬 Highlights: · Innovative Approach: Using norbornadiene as an acetylene equivalent, the microwave-assisted synthesis significantly reduces reaction times to ≤1 hour for most cases which is rare for this reaction · Expanded Scope: This method unlocks a wide range of heterocycles, including challenging Lewis basic substrates, making it highly versatile for pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry applications. · Practical Impact: The process is scalable to gram quantities, demonstrating its potential for industrial and academic use.
