It's SAFE-D Conference week! 👏 We look forward to seeing you soon. We are placing an added emphasis on local connections and the power of networking at the Conference. Using the newly revised SAFE-D regional map, each region will have the opportunity to meet and discuss local issues. First and foremost, these meetings will give attendees a chance to meet and establish relationships with other ESDs in their part of the state. From there, the focus of these regional meetings should be discussing local issues and solutions, interactions and connections with regional legislative members, and identifying ways that SAFE-D can serve your area.

ASIS "In Conjunction With" (ICW) Direction - My Red Pen - New Part 1 I have read the following four documents / content to form my perspective and suggestions: GSX 2024 IN CONJUNCTION WITH ICW GUIDELINES - https://lnkd.in/gFq4e8_p ICW Mission Statement - https://lnkd.in/gujX4drd ICW Guidelines - https://lnkd.in/gBXHnnGJ ICW FAQs - https://lnkd.in/gAZpieMa I read these documents as a past and future attendee of ASIS Events, GSX, ICWs. I read these documents also in hope that I and my little company will be a able to have a booth at GSX and host ICWs as my little company grows. I also read these in context of 3 types of EXAMPLE ICWs happening sometime between Saturday and Thursday around GSX 3 days: 🎉 4-5 of my peers heading over to Billy Bob's Coffee shop to "continue the discussion from the show floor" to network about future business together 🎉 50+ people showing up to an no-registration/come as you go Mixer for Young Executive Protection Professionals. 🎉 100 registered military / law enforcement that are attending, invited to a local range or golf entertainment venue to honor them for their service and talk about transitioning training, oh and to have fun. Bottom Line: I encourage ASIS remove these documents, consider my and others suggestions and work with the membership and sponsors and other stakeholders to provide a RFC model for these documents like ASIS uses for other standards and guidelines. I and my virtual Red Pen officially volunteers (no CPEs required) to help "get this right" for our association and industry. Original Text "GSX 2024 IN CONJUNCTION WITH ICW GUIDELINES In our ongoing commitment to fostering a secure and reputable environment for all our stakeholders, ASIS International is implementing an official policy" My questions / thoughts I’m very confused of whether this is a guideline (good idea – not enforceable - "good of the order" stuff) or “official policy" (a set of absolute rules and full enforcement power/authority and financial resources to enforce) ASIS Team, I suggest you/we determine what part of these 4 documents is (y)our requirements / "policy" and which items are good ideas / "guidelines" and have simply 1 document or split these into two simple ones. Suggested Wording Change "GSX 2024 IN CONJUNCTION WITH (ICW) REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES In our ongoing commitment to fostering an amazing networking, innovation and business environment for all our stakeholders, ASIS International is implementing an official set of requirements and guidelines." #security #askmcconnell #ciso #cso #asis #icw #asisinternational #gsx #nexusevent More suggestions to come.....

Thank you, #NAPFA24 and all the wonderful fee-only advisors who attended “High Trust Client Meetings” yesterday! Loved the interaction and questions! Key learnings from yesterday: 🧠 Clients don’t trust information they don’t understand - get visual to get clear 🧠 Clients trust you more when you care enough to employ a process designed to “get” them - consultative skills and sequence are key 🧠 The vast majority of us value swag with our pet’s name on it over anything else - personalization matters (sorry exhibitors!) There’s more where that came from – look for more on the AdvisoryEDGE page. #psychologyofadvice #conference #breakout #trust #consultative
