LinkedIn is all about making contacts. But, can they actually contact you? You’ve filled out the “Contact Info” section on your profile. So, that’s all you need to do, right❓ Wrong. If you want to succeed on LinkedIn, you need to make your contact details obvious & easily accessible. That means including them in your About section & potentially your professional headline & background banner. Why is this important❓ Because the easier it is for someone to find your details, the more likely they are to contact you. Potential clients & recruiters are busy people. The more effort they have to make, the less interested they become. They might not even be able to access your contact details at all – the default setting on LinkedIn is that your contact information is only visible to people you’re already connected to. Unless you change it, this instantly alienates a whole lot of people who haven’t got time to wait for you to accept an invitation to connect. Will they even bother making an enquiry❓ So, remove the barriers. Make it easy for people to contact you & you’ll make more sales through LinkedIn.
