I used Canva to design this poster which was printed and placed all over Upper Campus to announce the launch of Zistify Deliveries. This was back in late October 2019. At the time, we didn't offer delivery and enabled customers to place an order and receive a notification when their order was ready for collection. We got a lot of interest, but botched the launch because I didn't fully test the app with different accounts and on different devices. It was a tough lesson that I learned the hard way. The design of the poster isn't that great either, lots of imperfections and spacing issues. I was still in my early days of design so cut me some slack 😂 Since I was doing everything myself the cost was really low. I only had to pay $16/m for hosting. Everything else was hard labour. One of the best traits of an entrepreneur is resourcefulness: being able to do more with less and finding alternatives to spending money. A lot of the time this means getting your hands "dirty" by doing work you aren't skilled at. However, over time you actually become so good at it you realise that any skill can be learned through practice. #entrepreneurship #startup #founder

What are some of the common challenges and pitfalls of presentation design? One big challenge we often face is putting too much information on a slide, which is often no one reads. While it's easy to say make presentations like Steve Jobs, google and so on the reality in finance and business pitches is quite different. The real challenge is in presentation design: understanding the content fully, finding the right visuals or turning them into infographics, and convincing experienced bosses or managers to try new ideas. It's also important to use good pictures and not make things too complicated but this is often underestimated. Keeping the design consistent, like using the same fonts and colors, headers is another challenge.
