For me it is about the condition that all of us humans go through, that of being suspended like a leaf above the unknown direction of the world, in a cosmic vision that unites us all.  Symbol and heart of the universe. Hidden Treasure New work/series is being added to ArtLifting's catalog, museum-quality prints up to 50”. These are a new thing mostly, or trying to really expand some things I'd previously experimented with. I 'painted' with minerals and colored resins in petri dishes to create imagery to capture. Lighting was with prisms, refracted light sources and UV light as well. Then introduced very simple chemical reactions (think a baking soda volcano level science project) and tried to capture things in motion, trying to bring the base I painted to life. The idea was to evoke things in nature I'm interested in, cosmology, space, the ocean, and satellite imagery of landscapes on our planet, or a fantastical look at our planet. #art #photography #abstract #abstractphotography #santacruz #artlifting #santacruz #water #ocean

paradox seasonal collision 2024 This treated photograph showcases an interplay of light reflections, textures, and color fields that collide in shallow lake waters. The reflection of light on objects is vision. So what do we do with light reflected on objects....?  We create from it an image that embodies the human condition (the ego) and embodies time and space (the I of time and space). The photographer's mission is to record the effect of light on objects with his vision and his angle, through the complexities of life, to become the window through which he looks at the world, and the world looks at him as a luminous window that leaves an impact on souls.
