🌟How has your network helped spark new ideas? 🌟 This week has been about connecting with new people and reigniting relationships with familiar faces. From The Crafty Jar in Stourbridge, hosted by Talbots Law, to Five Alive Networking at Stourbridge Golf Club (thanks to Kevin Cox), and finally, Non League Networking at Stourbridge FC (brilliantly hosted by Emma Cromarty MCIPD), it’s been a whirlwind of energy, ideas, and inspiration. What stood out to me in every conversation was how collaboration fuels success and how curiosity drives us to keep learning and growing. It was great to reconnect with familiar faces like Lisa Tighe, ★Ian Preston★, Paul Lawrence, Nicola Harrop, Sophie Murcott, Andy Jones, Carl Morgan, David Hadley, Jo Mason, Richard Powell, Ismaeel (Ishy) Dillon, Marie Jenkins, Michael Skirving, Jaki Lewis-Thompson, Neil Shakespeare, Tony Seaton, and Chris Livesley—while also expanding my network with new connections who will no doubt inspire future opportunities. I’m constantly reminded of how much we gain by surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals, sharing ideas, and staying open to new perspectives. Why should you come to Canary Connections? 🤔 Well, when I first started going to property networking events I couldn't find what I wanted. Most of the events were centred around education (and therefore they attracted lots of newbies) and pitching (disguised as presentations). There was very little opportunity for networking. Maybe a 15 minute interval if you were lucky. Not everyone would hang around after the formalities were over. You had no clue who else was in the room that you should even connect with. So I built my own event. Pure networking. No presentations to sit through. No speaker slots / pitches. No complete newbies. Curated attendee list. Invite-only. You know in advance who is coming that you should speak to. It's a lot of work for me 😫 but people find real value in it. "How many people typically attend Market Harborough Business Buzz?" 🤔 ✨ It’s a fair question, I get it: A good turnout gives a room lots of energy! ❓ But what really matters? The NUMBERS in the room, or the number of quality CONVERSATIONS you have in the room? 🤝 I’ve been to small networking events with just a handful of attendees and had the most meaningful, personalised conversations. 🤯 I’ve also been to events with 50+ people and left feeling overwhelmed and disconnected. 🎯 For me, it’s all about intention.
