Concrete repairs are common on both new construction and renovation projects. Self-leveling cements are used to repair floors to: ▶️ Ensure floors are smooth, flat, and ready for flooring systems. ▶️ Transform damaged concrete into a polished concrete floor system with concrete wear toppings. If you're focused on sustainable materials and understanding a product's environmental impacts, we'd like to spotlight CTS Cements. CTS Cements has published an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), allowing you to know their environmental impacts. Download a copy at the link below! Tobermore are proud to be the first manufacturer in the UK market to publish EPD certificates for our entire product range. However, this has now become a commodity in the construction industry. It is our intention to give you piece of mind when specifying our product range. Most EPD certificates only include A1-A3, which is cradle to gate. So if the product is being imported (Belgium, Holland, Spain etc...) then the A4-A5, which is transport and haulage, has not been included in the overall Carbon rating. Tobermore provide detail on A1 all the way to A5, and is included in our products Carbon rating. Tobermore uses local suppliers within the UK to reduce our A4-A5 Carbon footprint. 🚛 B1-B7 is the measurement while the product in use/in situ. Again, this is included in our EPD certificates. 🧱 C stages are the end of life measurements for the product - this includes recycling and disposal of the products. ♻️ Lastly, the D stages are beyond the end of life of the product - after it has been recycled. 🔚 As you can see, Tobermore go above and beyond to provide you with all the information you need to take into consideration when it comes to specifying our products. Transparency of the environmental performances of our solutions. 📝 We are pleased to announce that we have recently published a new EPD for four of our main FibaTape® Drywall mesh tapes – Classic (Blue), Perfect Finish (White), Mold-X (Green), and Xtreme (Orange) on EPD International AB. 🤨 What is an EPD? An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a public, third-party verified document that provides quantitative information about a product’s environmental performance throughout its entire life cycle. This includes material extraction, production, usage, and end-of-life stages. 🤔 How are they useful? EPDs are essential for accurately assessing the environmental impact of a building. They serve as a comprehensive tool for decision-making in material selection, aiding in the ecodesign of future buildings. At Saint-Gobain ADFORS, we are committed to ensuring that 100% of our main product ranges are covered by EPDs by 2030. Furthermore, we will regularly update our products’ EPDs to reflect any significant changes in production processes or the carbon footprint of our solutions. 💪 👇Link to the FibaTape® EPD in the comments section.👇

Glass is a more sustainable construction material than concrete and steel, even though the embodied energy of glass is greater than that of concrete on a unit mass basis. It might sound counterintuitive, but let us explain. The key lies in the lifecycle of the materials. Glass, unlike many other materials, can be recycled indefinitely without losing its quality or purity. This means that the initial embodied energy can be spread over multiple lifecycles, reducing the overall environmental impact. You might ask, why is this important? As we strive to build a more sustainable future, every decision we make counts. Choosing materials with lower environmental impact can significantly contribute to this goal. This is where Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) come into play. EPDs provide detailed information about the environmental impact of products, including their embodied energy. They enable us to make informed decisions about the materials we use, promoting transparency and accountability in our industry. Did you know? AGC Glass Asia Pacific is the first glassmaker to publish EPD covering products manufactured in Asia. #AGCGlass #GlassforQualityLife #BuildingIndustry #Innovation #Trends #Sustainability #glassindustry #EPD #sustainableconstruction

🌱EPDs and Carbon Footprint Assessment: An In-depth Analysis In the context of sustainable development and climate change mitigation, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have become a key tool for assessing the carbon footprint of products. EPDs provide comprehensive data based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), detailing the greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of a product—from raw material extraction, production, and transportation, to usage and disposal. This transparency allows companies to conduct a thorough analysis of carbon hotspots within their products' lifecycles, identifying opportunities for reducing emissions. With the scientific data provided by EPDs, companies can optimize their supply chains, select low-carbon materials, improve production efficiency, and even design products with longer lifecycles and lower environmental impacts. As global attention to carbon neutrality intensifies, EPDs are not only a means for companies to fulfill their environmental responsibilities but also a core component in gaining competitive advantage in the green market. Many governments, building certification systems, and public procurement policies use EPDs as key criteria for evaluating a product’s carbon footprint and overall environmental impact. For companies aiming to enhance sustainability and transition to a low-carbon economy, EPDs provide an indispensable tool for developing targeted carbon reduction strategies. Moreover, the transparency of EPDs enables consumers to better understand the environmental impact of products, empowering them to make more environmentally conscious purchasing decisions. Let’s build a greener future, together. 🌱Why Partner with Us? 🌍 In #sustainableconstruction, choosing the right materials is crucial. EPD certified materials are essential in building sustainably, offering transparent and comparable information about the environmental impact of products. Why EPDs? These certifications provide transparent, verified, and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products. This is crucial in: 1. Ensuring Compliance with #GreenBuilding Standards: Many green building schemes like LEED, BREEAM, etc., increasingly require the use of EPD certified materials. 2. Enabling Better Decision Making: EPDs offer essential data for Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) at the building level, guiding architects and builders in choosing #lowercarbon options. 3. Meeting Market and Legal Regulations: With evolving regulations around environmental impact and sustainability, EPDs serve as a reliable compliance tool. GREENMANTRA Technologies aligns with this sustainable vision. CERANOVUS® products, manufactured entirely from recycled plastic and holding an EPD certification, play a significant role in minimizing environmental effects, notably in carbon footprint reduction, when used in the production of construction materials. 💡 By integrating EPD certified materials like CERANOVUS® into construction projects, we ensure adherence to high environmental standards and contribute to a more sustainable future. Let's build responsibly with EPD certified materials.
