On mission to fix the nursing shortage

Nursing has become more professionalized, respected, and regulated since this poster's heyday. But, I would argue, as time has lifted standards of nursing care, unsafe staffing and burnout have dragged them back. Which brings us to virtual nursing. How does it work, and will it ease the staffing burden on healthcare facilities? According to ChristianaCare, virtual nurses - situated in a command center and contactable via a screen in patients' rooms - improve patient experience, have caught potential errors and contribute to decreased length of stay and readmission rates. They also relieve the burden on bedside nurses, act as coaches for new nurses and provide support to virtual and bedside colleagues. This Friday I'm inspecting how they expanded it to 41% of beds, and exploring how this will impact nurse recruitment needs and capacity: join the webinar on Friday, 2 pm Eastern. https://lnkd.in/eBTnFnFJ
