After just a few months of a full-time job, I realized one thing... I can't do THIS for too long. How can I do the same thing for 8 hours a day, for the rest of my life? Simple, I can't. And so can't most of us. This is why the progress in the career is so important. Master a topic, do it for a while, and pivot a bit. I pivoted my career already 5 times. PHP WordPress developer -> Frontend Engineer -> .NET Full-stack -> NodeJS Full-stack -> Partial product owner -> Lead developer -> Tech lead Ok, it was more than 5. 😁 The best part of this? ✅ I can cover more topics. ✅ Every time I learn something new. ✅ It keeps things fresh and interesting. ✅ Employer is happy to have motivated employee. ✅ With more diverse experience comes a better salary. Embrace the change and Level UP! 🚀 A lot of times you can try the new thing even in your current role! Want to level up to Leader? Want to level up to Full-stack? Want to level up to Product Owner? What is stopping you? Identify, overcome, and progress. Believe me. It makes the 8 hours you spend in your job much more enjoyable. PS: Where do you want to level up now?

There are many paths to level-up a role and sometimes you don't even need to leave the role. Learn a new tech stack, take on a side project, collaborate with other teams, etc.

Adam, it is so true! Sometimes, the jobs we take up with so much passion can cause burnout and a lot of demotivation due to same old hustle everyday. That's why enjoying the process and upskilling is really important Adam Bilišič

From what I have seen throughout my career there are (generalizing here) two kinds of employees: the ones that have never enough (changes, knowledge, skills, promotion, money, ...) and the ones who prefer routines and don’t like changes. And in companies we need both. It’s a job of the first group to set up the most effective routines for the second group - and working together with them for constant optimisation of such routines. We just need to be aware that we need all the types in our teams.
