A colleague asked me for some "Adam summaries" for some of the specialized roles for which Enduring Games is hiring, and so I'm posting those here, too. • On the Engineering side, we're hiring low-level C++, people with C++ & Assembly & tools backgrounds, and C++ & Assembly & tools & networking. We work in Unreal Engine, proprietary, lesser-known, and Unity engines. • For Tech Art, we're hiring tech animators (rigging and skinning), or animators with above-average tech anim skills to partner with other members of our tech art and tech art pipeline teams. • I just hired an experienced Producer, so now I'm hiring fast-learners (still with base skills and context for console game dev), who can add new perspectives to game development & facilities management. • I am hiring a Producer (English & Japanese) with proficiency in English and Japanese (written & verbal, including business language, and business language differentiation and experience is core to the role). • For Design, I'm hiring technical designers with strong core fundamentals (how to craft a game, not just build things), or strong designers with tech aptitude, that we can fast track with Python, C#, Verse, and ideally even C++. Design fundamentals are very important for these roles. • For QA, I'm hiring a person who can both build an organization, and be a low-level, high-impact individual contributor as we build that organization. Console experience and expertise (including relationships, certification, and waivers) are a must. • I'm hiring some odd ones like genuinely technical tech writers, too, and by that I mean folks who can parse engineering APIs, pseudocode, and/or have some technical QA- or SDET-like skills. Our values and our expectations (for all of us) are requirements for every role, and are not just words – They are the things that help us measure our success, do more work than we should be able to, have a higher quality of life, and take care of each other and people around us. All of these roles are full-time, on-site & in-studio in Austin, Texas. I am so glad there are on-site, remote, and hybrid work models for candidates, work models are a combination of business model & culture the company wants, and on-site takes care of those important things for us. I hope these open roles (and others on www.enduring.games/jobs) are encouraging for folks looking for new opportunitie – And we're not the only ones actively hiring – Even with recent impacts, the game industry continues to grow, and needs quality, talented people who want to keep growing. #gamedevjobs #Austin #AustinTX
Love that you're looking for tech writer in particular! Definitely a role we need more of in the industry.
The Producer role sounds like my cup of tea! Where's the office located?
