🚀 Next week is going to be action-packed in Helsinki! I’m thrilled to attend Slush, one of my all-time favorite startup events! Slush is known for its intense focus on founders, investors, and making impactful connections, all aimed at driving the future and laying out the roadmap for the next big moves. What impresses me the most is that it’s one of the few places where you can hear directly from those who built companies like Deepl, Hugging Face, Twitch, or Flix—true startup all-stars with invaluable insights to share. Plus, some of the most renowned investors from both the US and Europe will be there. It’s amazing to see big fish and small fish swimming in the same pond, working together and learning from each other. I already feel the energy! But that’s not all…since I’ll already be in Helsinki, we decided to double up on the excitement by hosting the Demo Day for our EIT Urban Mobility RAPTOR Helsinki pilot project! 🚶♂️🌍 Dreamwaves is working closely with the Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki, Forum Virium Helsinki and humankind to make urban navigation more accessible, and on Monday and Tuesday, we’ll be out on the streets with our data collection app, gathering essential insights on accessibility. 📢 Are you at Slush and curious about our navigation tech? Today is the day when the Urban Tech Helsinki Challenge 2024 teams get to present their ideas and compete for the win 🏆. We asked some of our mentors about their thoughts on the Challenge and the upcoming pitching event: 🎤 One thing that stuck in your mind? Ari Kaukiainen: "The readiness of the teams surprised me at the beginning. None of the teams started empty-handed and some already had a business!" Klaus Vesama: "Hmm... I have to say the ideation as an iterative process together with customer pains and gains". 🎤 What was it like for YOU to be a mentor? Ari Kaukiainen: "Mentoring teams on unfamiliar topics has been challenging, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to apply knowledge and essential skills in different applications, which enhances learning opportunities." Klaus Vesama: "It was great to coach and be part of the team's development process". 🎤 What are you most looking forward to at the Pitching Event? Ari Kaukiainen: "I'm waiting to see the final results of the development and the readiness to move into some real pilots and use cases! I'm also interested to see all the innovations and their possible impact on circularity in the construction industry".
