This weekend I had the amazing experience to travel to Fenway Park through my Fan Services internship with The Savannah Bananas. Years of work led up to this game, and we (pardon my French) fricking sold it out. I made a blog post about a few Fans First Moments I had, I'd love for you to check it out! ___________________________ “How are you enjoying the game?” I asked a security guard, John, who was positioned at a staircase on the backside of the stadium. And he thanked us. He thanked us for bringing fun baseball back to Fenway. He told me about his journey of working at the stadium since the 80s, where he started by selling beer in the stands. He told me how great it was to see kids running around and chasing down autographs. He told me that although he couldn’t see the game, he watched as fans gave their undivided attention to Matt Graifer and the player's pre-game show before gates opened. He told me his Grandpa came to Fenway to watch Babe Ruth pitch. He told me that his grandkids were there tonight. I didn’t say much, I let him tell me. He told me how much fun he was having. He told me that the stadium had more life in it than it did during the World Series. He told me that we brought the baseball community back to Fenway in a way he has never seen. He reminded me through his words why we do it. I don’t know who got more out of that conversation, him or I. I do know that he wasn’t the only one with those thoughts. This post isn’t about what I get to do with the Bananas, it’s a reminder that if you work with fans at any capacity, you have the ability to make these moments. https://lnkd.in/es_cCQkC #Baseball #SavannahBananas #Sportsmarketing #FanEngagement #Entertainment #Sports #WorkingInSports #Internship #MakingMoments

WE ARE NUMBER 1 IN EUROPE! As highlighted in my first post earlier this week since taking a huge risk and joining Falco KC Szombathely my internship has gone better than I could have possibly imagined. But Tuesday brought news none of us expected as a club that we topped the Basketball Champions League (BCL) for YouTube viewership in January. This alone would be something of unbelievable pride but it is when digging deeper into the numbers and seeing we had over double (100.8%) the views of 2nd place and contributed 26.6% of total Views of 32 clubs this success is truly unprecedented. I came into my Internship unsure if 3 years of research on the European Basketball landscape and Digital Marketing Trends in my own time would pay off, and if I actually had the skills required to deliver on what I was striving for, and it is safe to say I have exceeded my own expectations ten fold. As a result I wanted to highlight some key metrics in the context of the Champions League of our growth this season in this post that are off huge pride to myself and the club; - Leading the Champions League in YouTube views and engagement with February already providing even higher Averages on our record breaking January. - 37.6% increase in our YouTube subscribers since joining. - Over 100,000 Views in a month on YouTube, the highest of any BCL team this season. - 21st to 11th in Monthly Views. - 17th in Engagement (+11 on BCL Followers) - Top 10 for engagement on both Facebook (10th) and TikTok (4th), ensuring not just our International and New target audiences are reached with our ambitious new strategy but crucially still also engaging our existing loyal supporters through our existing established channels of communications. Finally on a more subjective note to proudly say we are out performing in metrics against BCL clubs with 25 - 40x Larger following and reach than us, and with a marketing budget of €0 just with creativity and hard work we have achieved these results and are still pushing for more. This is something I could have only dreamt off 5 months ago when packing my bags to move to Szombathely having never seen the City or where I'd be living. Equally moving with a repertoire of ideas and research having no barometer of how successful my ideas and research would be with my first true step in the industry, this Internship has exceeded all of my expectations and beyond. Long may this success continue with more exciting projects both marketing and commercial to launch for the remainder of the season. Hajrá Falco
