As the year comes to a close, we are delighted to announce that we’ve raised over $20,000 on behalf of A21, a nationally recognized 501 (c)(3) organization that works to break the cycle of human trafficking both here and abroad through direct rescue interventions and social programs that help trafficking victims restore their lives. #stophumantrafficking #joiningforcesforfreedom

Dream big
What an effort! Congratulations to the organising committee on their 10th and final Hume Bank City2City. Over the past decade, this event has not only raised more than $1million for Albury Wodonga Health. It's also helped bring our border communities together. We’re so proud to have had the opportunity to be part of it from the very beginning.

This years Global 16 Days of Activism theme is ‘Invest to prevent violence’ For a decade, through our mahi and ongoing journey with men, we have seen the investment of healing firsthand. Last year, we put the question out there to men; If She Is Not Your Rehab then who is she? They responded. ‘She is Courageous’ by Blair for Maurz These limited edition art prints we have just released, are the investment needed to prevent violence by supporting men to heal from the affects of childhood trauma and Intergenerational violence. Every dollar raised goes directly back into our mahi to ensure we can sustainably fund our work. Because the cost of violence is too high. Beyond the headlines and statistics, it is lives lost. Our mothers, sisters and children. But the small investment into preventing violence is generational, it is has the greatest return, for men, for whānau and for our communities. Today, on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we shine a light on the work of the Women in Safe Homes fund, which provides safe homes for vulnerable women, including survivors of domestic violence. The fund already houses 185 women and children. Together with our partner Resonance Limited, we will work to ensure it continues to provide safe and secure homes to survivors of domestic abuse. We would like to thank the fund’s impact investor and charity partners who have supported it by raising capital; including Big Society Capital, The Church of England, Casey Family Programs and the MacArthur Foundation. The premise of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is to raise awareness around the world that women are subjected to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence; and to highlight that the scale and true nature of the issue is often hidden. #NOEXCUSE #16DaysOfActivism

I fear that this might cause some people to embrace being stuborn. For more context, I’m not regretful at all that I gave up on any of these ideas. They wouldn’t have worked when I did them. I needed to pivot. In my experience, staying open-minded is even more important than focus for perservering. I wasn’t able to get customers with these ideas, the tech wasn’t there in the right way, I wasn’t the right person to sell them, I couldn’t get funded doing them… A business idea is more than just “the product,” its: the timing, the team, the circumstances. A business is more than just a business idea, its: a mission, its determination, its a methodology for providing value and creating assets.
Every idea that I tried briefly two years ago has now been tried in the last 4 months by a company that raised billions on it. Perserverence is key.

Researchers for The Colorado Project 2023 asked participants what projects or programs they would implement in their partnerships to decrease human trafficking (if resources weren't an issue). The most common answer was HOUSING. Learn why it's so hard for human trafficking survivors to escape exploitation without stable housing on our blog: https://lnkd.in/ew75qcf2 #EndHumanTrafficking #HumanTraffickingAwareness #HumanTrafficking #Exploitation #Research #Nonprofit #EndTraffickingColorado #EliminateExploitation #TheColoradoProject2023 #Homelessness #HousingInsecurity
