Women and girls with disabilities experience inequality, discrimination, and violence in different ways yet continue to be underrepresented in programs that affect them. The first crucial step to empower women and girls with disabilities is to consult them directly, give them a voice, and let them lead solutions, aligned to the approach, “nothing about us without us.” ADB is holding its first forum to tackle the intersection of gender equality and disability inclusion in commemoration of the International Day of #PersonsWithDisabilities and #HumanRightsDay. 👉 Be part of the conversation and register now: https://lnkd.in/g_zsys5K 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/g65kEwM7 #GenderEquality #DisabilityInclusion

The Philippines is taking a strategic step forward. On October 7, the Climate Change Commission Philippines, with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Agence Française de Développement, launched the Philippines Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Gender Action Plan. Under the Paris Agreement, the Philippines committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75% and increase renewable energy’s share of power generation to 35% in 2030 and 50% by 2040. The country now has a stand-alone document that provides a clear and actionable pathway to integrate gender considerations into climate policies.
