So nameless corporation, (Hitachi) is hiring a Master's or PhD degree content writer for $20. I made this rate as a DJ with a BA at a local radio station 24 years ago, with none of the skills or requirements nameless corporation demands. This is why no one wants to work. Candidates want work, not slavery with extra steps. If nameless corporation can't afford to pay for the candidate, they can't afford to open the position. My opinion on corporations continues to get lower. This is not the place to make money for your shareholders. Sell all the extra real estate we all know you as a corporation no longer need, and are only keeping as loss avoidance, and an ego stroke. Default on the unneeded real estate, now. Seriously, H&M? 5-10 years for a copywriter? Just saw a job listing for a copywriter at H&M that requires 5-10 years of experience. Are you kidding me? So basically, young professionals like me can't even get a FOOT in the door because we haven't been writing ads since high school? Don't get me wrong, I respect the value of experience. But companies are missing out on a HUGE pool of talent by focusing solely on years on a resume. Young people bring fresh ideas, a willingness to soak up knowledge like a sponge, and a work ethic that could power a small city. We might not have a decade under our belt, but we bring passion, fresh perspectives, and the drive to make a real impact.
