Retired Co-founder Aage Hjelmsø and his dog Cody often visit Covi Precision as they live nearby. Aage Hjelmsø turns 85 years on May 24th. So, he will most likely serve a delicious cake for our afternoon coffee break.   Aage and Susanne Hjelmsø founded Covi Precision in 1963 and one of the machines they bought back then was an old Deckel KF1 Pantograph copy machine.   As time went by and laser machines were implemented at Covi Precision, the pantograph became unnecessary in context of production. But Aage has a special talent for spotting things that can be reused. When the pantograph became obsolete, he cut off the upper part of the pantograph, kept the lower part and mounted a modern laser machine on top. This machine is still in work today.   The lower part is very heavy and stable. An advantage when laser engraving is to be done.
