Lockheed Martin is one of the world’s largest aerospace & defense manufacturers. In 2021, the company posted a whopping $67 billion in Net Sales! But even this behemoth was not immune to supply chain difficulties. Lockheed Martin had limited visibility into its partners across the supply chain, therefore leaving planners with disconnected and limited information to make decisions. With the Kinaxis RapidResponse Platform all that changed! President at Nunez Properties I Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret.) | National Security & Strategy I Diplomatic Advisor I Oil & Gas I Board Experience
In the realm of business, we can assess this as a positive move and very necessary. Boeing has been in decline for more than a few years. Chief Executive Officer Dave Calhoun has provided poor leadership and management. It was not all that long ago when Boeing was regarded as the preeminent aircraft manufacturer in the world, and burgeoning sales clearly confirmed this. Let us hope the new CEO is able to solve the extensive quality control - safety - issues and shepherd new aircraft designs into jets that compete well in the international market. Change is difficult, but certainly necessary. #boeing #ceo #resignation #quality #control #safety #change #competition #leadership #management #manufacturing #aircraft https://lnkd.in/eYVSyipZ

It's great that my home state is growing like this! With aerospace leaders like Archer, Hermeus, and Lockheed Martin expanding in Georgia, small and rural communities have a unique opportunity to become key players in the industry. By attracting high-tech suppliers and precision manufacturing companies, these communities can support cutting-edge aviation projects and create high-quality jobs. As with many states though, workforce development presents challenges, especially in rural areas. By investing in education and training, and utilizing our tech school system, we can unlock incredible potential and start growing these rural communities too. Together, we can build a skilled workforce that powers Georgia's future. #EconomicDevelopment #GeorgiaGrowth #AerospaceInnovation #RuralOpportunities #WorkforceDevelopment
Georgia is solidifying its position as a premier hub for aerospace and defense, proudly ranking No. 2 for Aerospace Manufacturing Readiness by PwC. This accolade reflects the state's exceptional infrastructure, highly skilled workforce, and cutting-edge research facilities. From major investments by industry leaders to advanced educational programs and strategic partnerships, Georgia is equipped to drive the future of aerospace. This stunning chart shows the profound impact of the Last Supper. We used to have an American Industrial Base: Ford made missiles until 1990. Now we have a Defense Industrial Base. When the Berlin Wall fell ONLY 6% of DOD Spend went to companies that were pure Defense. The rest went to company with commercial and government business -- companies like Ford, Chrysler, Kodak, General Mills. Today 86% goes to Defense companies that can't benefit from self financed R&D and the innovation pressures of the commercial markets. China's primes only get 30-40% of their revenue from the PLA. https://lnkd.in/gDwCS93X I only wish the author understood that it is precisely the ability to earn higher profits that leads to lower prices by providing the incentive to invest in new technologies that change price performance. That's the power of America's commercial markets. As Bezos said: "your margin is my opportunity"

After 6 months at Cora, although I still feel like a newbie to the industry, I am consistently hearing the same challenge in businesses who run projects to make money i.e. made to order manufacturing in A&D, Pharma, Construction, Utilities/ Energy, MedTech etc. That challenge is two fold: 1. How to estimate bids and proposals accurately to ensure businesses select the projects that are commercially viable, and take into consideration their resource and capacity constraints, previous bid history, risk adjusted costs, commercial approvals, etc. 2. Once selected, the ability to manage those complex projects through their lifecycle (in some cases spanning multiple decades) from ideation to decommissioning. This includes resource and capacity planning, milestone tracking, supply chain synchronisation, strategic portfolio selection and management, billing, financial reporting, etc. The partnership between Cora Systems and Twenty5 solves these challenges, and integrates neatly into a wider ecosystem of #ERP and #CRM. With so many common customers and partners, it was an obvious fit. Happy to share more details with my network should the above challenges sound familiar! #PPM #Cora #BidManagement #PortfolioManagement #ProjectSelection #Twenty5
🎊Exciting news update! We have officially announced our strategic partnership with Twenty5. We look forward to providing enhanced solutions for program management from bid to delivery. Commenting on the importance of the collaboration, John Fitzgerald, COO at Cora Systems, said: “By joining forces with Twenty5, we see clear synergies. We’re impressed by Twenty5’s expertise in major project estimation and in how their application can handle large amounts of data, which is critical, for example, in sectors in which we both already have established customer bases – in the manufacturing to order, aerospace & defense and construction industries" You can find the full release here : https://lnkd.in/eVsXjj4k
