For those of us who work daily at the intersection of production and manual labor, even the so-called "perception of safety" is crucial. It's not enough to provide solutions that meet high safety standards—we strive to create an environment where safety is palpable. Our systems always have the person at the center of our objectives. The technician must move easily, monitor quickly, and act promptly. Because if the technician feels safe, so does the company. 👉DPY351,a robust and versatile multifunction display. This Common Issue Arises When Power Door Operators are Used with Access Control Systems and Locking Hardware 🔑🚪 https://lnkd.in/gx27Xiiq 📹 In this video, our technician explains a common yet critical mistake in automatic door operator installations: improper integration with access control systems and locking hardware. 🔍 During a recent Power Door Operator replacement, we identified a contributing factor to the automatic door system’s failure: improper integration or sequencing with the access control system or electric strike. 📌 It’s crucial to understand that when a Power Door Operator is installed on a door that must close and latch, the electronic door latching hardware must be correctly installed and integrated with the automatic door operator. When an activation signal is sent to the automatic door system, the system must first release the electric strike or retract the door latching hardware before the automatic door activates. ❗ If no electronic door hardware is installed or the integration was not performed correctly, you must manually release the door-latching device before activating the operator. This defeats the purpose of installing a Power Door Operator and may cause premature wear or even failure of the automatic door system or door hardware. 🔧 Many Power Door Operators can power and sequence electric strikes. However, depending on the system’s mode of operation and complexity, additional logic relays or power supplies may be required to integrate correctly with the electronic door hardware, access control system, or washroom kit. 📑 It’s common to find “Access Control Integration By Others” on tender documents or quotations. When integrating these systems, it’s essential to hire a contractor who asks the right questions, understands the overall Mode of Operation, and can deliver an outcome that matches. 🤝🏻 At SHARC®, we specialize in ensuring the seamless integration of Power Door Operators with access control systems and electronic door locking hardware. Our expert team understands the intricacies and can help prevent these common issues, ensuring your automatic door systems function smoothly and reliably. Modern offshore installations use integrated alarm management systems to centralize monitoring and response. These systems collect data from fire alarms, gas detectors, and other safety devices, triggering automated alerts based on predefined emergencies and recording incidents for later analysis. Programmable Logic Controllers - industrial computers with various inputs and outputs, automate responses and data collection, while Human-Machine Interfaces give operators visual data on alarms. Alarm rationalization software prioritizes critical alarms to reduce alarm fatigue. Visual notification systems also play their part in noisy environments – especially FPSOs and oil rigs, but SOVs are definitely not excluded from the party. Strobe lights, digital signage, and escape route indicators help guide crew members to safety. Explosion-proof strobes work safely in hazardous areas, dynamic signage displays location-specific evacuation instructions, and fibre optic pathway lighting creates well-lit escape routes. This image shows a cable that Richard Coard recently encountered on an event site. The HO7 we all tend to use on events is tough and intended to be so. However, long-term exposure to the elements will always take its toll. This cable is left on site between jobs and provides power to a remote location. While that makes it much easier for the installers on-site, it means that, obviously, it’s not going home at the end of each job to be looked after. I think there are a couple of questions to be asked, such as, “If power is regularly needed in that place, is a temporary cable arrangement suitable? Would it be a safer and more compliant solution to correctly install a permanent solution?” A permanent solution that a temporary source can easily be connected to may be an option. #electricalcontractor #electricaltesting #electricalinspection #electricalwork #outdoorevents

Strict safety standards! Amp5 adheres to rigorous safety standards, including EN 61851-1 and EN-IEC 60947-2 Annex B, ensuring safe operation and protection against electrical faults. The system includes built-in Type B RCDs that automatically cut power in case of hazardous fault currents exceeding 30/6 mA (AC/DC). The centralized surge protection protects both the charging system and connected EVs against lightning and power surges, which is also a legal requirement for public charging stations. "50/27 inadvertent energization protection function is an overcurrent function supervised by generator terminal bus voltage derived from system side VTs. Inadvertent or accidental energizing of off-line generators has occurred frequently enough to warrant the use of dedicated protection logic to detect this condition. Operating errors, breaker flashovers, control circuit malfunctions or a combination of these causes have resulted in generators being accidentally energized while off-line." Steve T. of Arizona Public Service - APS shares this and more in Energy Central's Innovation Special Issue: https://lnkd.in/euitwvEB
