Can competition and cooperation co-exist? It may be strange to think of competitors working together but it’s not only been done, it’s also been successful in achieving common goals. This concept is needed now more than ever to act upon our collective obligation to shape a greener, more secure future. The concept, called ‘coopetition’, often happens when competitors recognize cooperation as the best way to resolve a significant challenge for the greater good, and that by combining complementary strengths, they stand a better chance of achieving a common goal. It’s especially prevalent and has been proven successful in sustainability efforts. An excellent example highlighted in a recent article from the World Economic Forum (link in comments), is that of beverage giants Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Coca Cola. In 2015, these staunch rivals together pledged to source a quarter of their plastic packaging from recycled materials by 2025, while continuing to compete against each other in the marketplace. Similarly, aircraft contenders Airbus and Boeing, along with other companies, have joined forces to create greener technologies to reduce the aviation industry’s large carbon footprint. Even dueling tech giants Apple and Samsung work together by trading hardware and services to create a smarter, more sustainable offering for consumers. These companies demonstrate that working with competitors can be mutually beneficial and one of the most efficient methods to accelerate progress on common goals. Business and government leaders play an important role by prioritizing cooperation when public interests clearly outweigh competitive interests to facilitate better solutions for everyone. History also has shown that public-private partnerships often provide the most conducive setting for coopetition serving the greater public. Sustainability is the quintessential case for coopetition, with obstacles far heavier than any singular company or country can move alone. We know more hands are better than one, but with the future of our planet and humanity at stake, we need all hands working together. #collectiveaction #leadership #sustainability

One of our musts at Antolin is the responsibility to transform the future of mobility from the interior through innovation. Regarding this, we have a strong commitment with sustainability and environmental care which has been acknowledged at ‘Premios Transformación hacia una Economía Sostenible’ 8th edition held by Expansión. This award was granted to our last development, an environment-friendly material made of mycelium. Mycelium is part of fungi vegetable growth, then it is found in natural terrestrial ecosystems. In this way, we also increase #circulareconomy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of car components. According to Jorge Álvarez-Naveiro, Head of Brand, Marketing, Communications (BMC) & Alliances at Antolin, "this award serves both as a public acknowledgment to the teams involved -the Innovation Direction, Sustainability, or the Overhead Systems Business Unit, among others- and as an encouragement to keep on contributing from the car interior to the planet’s sustainability”. We invite you to stay tuned and follow us on our platforms to learn more about this solution! Meanwhile, we want to thank Expansión for this award as well as all the Antolin staff who made it possible, working day after day promoting #innovation. https://lnkd.in/d7rbVsxA #BuildingTheFuture

Saying goodbye to an eventful 2023 and getting in the mood for 2024. As another transformational year has ended, I look back on the impressive journey we have undertaken together at MAHLE. 2023 was characterised by challenges, growth, strategic re-directing, and remarkable successes. Looking back, I want to share some of my key learnings of last year with you: 1️⃣ Recognize that you’re part of something bigger: At MAHLE, we think far beyond national borders and discover our true strength in internationalization. 2023 started with a milestone - the laying of the foundation stone in Ramos Arizpe at the end of January to expand MAHLE's production capacity in Mexico. This was accompanied by visits to our plants in China and an initial exploration of our activities in India with my colleague Joachim Baczewski. 2️⃣ No change without courage: Change hurts. And it doesn't happen overnight. But there are moments that make all the effort worthwhile: In 2023, MAHLE Thermal reached a significant milestone in battery technology – the revolutionization of battery cooling. Thus, we used bionics, inspired by the structure of a coral reef, to create more efficient, sustainable and powerful solutions. A real breakthrough! 3️⃣ We talk a lot about female empowerment. We live it very little: Women in leadership is a topic we like to write and read about. However, with a view to development, far too little is still happening in reality. That is why I am proud to be a member of relevant initiatives such as Women @ the Wheel and to make my contribution when it comes to inspiring young women to pursue a career in the automotive industry. We still have a long way to go! In this context also had the honor of contributing to Frederike Probert's new book project – my chapter is titled: "Stay Female: Why Women Shouldn't Turn Into Men Once They're in Leadership". In the face of unprecedented challenges, the MAHLE team has demonstrated resilience, endurance, innovative power, and the pursuit of excellence. Together, we are shaping the future of mobility, overcoming complexities, and recognizing opportunities for growth. I would like to thank every member of MAHLE. You have made 2023 a remarkable chapter in our journey. With this momentum, I look forward to what lies ahead of us in the new year 2024 🚀!

| Smart Manufacturing | Connected Worker | Sustainable Future | CAE/AI | Data Analytics | Helping manufacturing organisations unlock operational data
This week I wanted to share my thoughts on diversity and how manufacturing organisations can lead the way. As someone that manages neurodiversity on a daily basis in the family home, I know how enabling rich media formats such as video, animations, pictures and audio when delivered via 📲 can be to get engagement, messaging across and importantly concepts understood. Each day I think about the future opportunities available and career paths possible for those who are neurodiverse and if organisations will have the right tools in place to give the opportunity for inclusion. The data coming from Parsable report on state of digitisation and connected work in manufacturing frontlines, shows that the existing frontline workforce are ready for a change - ⛑️ 72% of frontline workers are ready to embrace digital tools. The manufacturing industry has an opportunity now to embrace and invest in tools such as 📲 and ☁️ to help maintain current and attract the future GenZ frontline worker by replacing traditional tools such as 📝 and excel. It’s a safe bet to say that 📲 technology and the benefits it brings over static tools such as 📝, will give the opportunity for those who are neurodiverse to be trained, onboarded and have a potential door open for them in a career in manufacturing in the future. It’s an exciting time in manufacturing as the opportunities to make a difference to the 🌎 and 🧍♂️🧍♀️ are all available, question is, how quickly will the manufacturing industry start investing in this area. We at Parsable believe the time is now and so do the results of the 📊 we have coming from the manufacturing industry…. Thank you to The Manufacturer for posting the article and to Vanessa Smith for writing the article, which gave some of the inspiration behind this weeks topic… hope you enjoyed the read this week, till next time…. 👊🏻…. #diversityandinclusion #neurodiversity #manufacturing #connectedworker #parsable
For those looking in from the outside, there may be a perception that the manufacturing sector is heavy-duty and physically demanding. On 23 April, we participated in the #ProcurementSummitESG2024, an event in which all the companies present shared their best practices and initiatives to achieve the decarbonization of the supply chain, a challenging and key task to ensure that our companies have a positive impact in environmental, social and governance terms. It was an honor to be part of this experience and to represent Antolin as a speaker 🚀✨ A warm thank you to Grupo CPOnet for giving us the opportunity to talk about #SustainableandResponsibleProcurement with Scope 3 as the protagonist. Together with my colleague, Beatriz Vallejo, we launched three clear messages, reflected in our project with Persiskin to bring to the automotive market a truly sustainable covering from surplus persimmon harvest 🍑↗🚘 1 - As the world advances and business grows, so do the options for mitigating the adverse environmental and socio-economic effects of industrial activity. 📗 2- Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals requires a plan of action to ensure that business has a positive impact on the planet. 🌍 3- The supply chain has a direct impact on the footprint of all industrial activity, and the alliance with suppliers and key stakeholders to find solutions to reduce this footprint is crucial to achieving common goals. ⛓🌿 I was very grateful to share presentations with great colleagues and partners from companies committed to Scope 3 and carbon footprint reduction. Arantza Pérez Oleaga (ASPAPEL) Rocío Fernández Artime and Pedro Arizmendi Carlin (Grupo CPOnet ) Eur Ing Santos NÚÑEZ DEL CAMPO (Renfe) Arianna Molino and Ana Gabriela Pedrosa (Kearney) Ernesto Barcelo (Gestamp) José Magro González, Alejandro Zafra, (KPMG) and Alba Villaverde Campomar (BBVA) among many others! #ESG #Scope3 #AutomotiveInteriors #SustainableCoverings #PersiSkinAuto #Commitment #SupplyChain Polo de la Automoción
