I’ve worked in the DEI and culture space for two decades, and I have never been more excited to drive impact than I am now. I joined General Motors just seven months ago, with a goal of helping to further the company’s aspiration to become the most inclusive company in the world. One thing I quickly learned is that our path to greater inclusivity is more vivid than ever. With a rich past and an exciting future, it’s clear that this organization is committed and continuing to take steps in the right direction. Today, I am honored to share, for the fifth time, GM has been recognized in the JUST Capital 100 rankings, landing in the top 50 overall and leading in the Automobiles & Parts industry. I'm proud to be a part of a company that is not only committed to transforming the way we move, but who is also making a positive impact among our people, communities and environment. As we recognize the strides we’ve made so far, the work ahead continues. Our mission is to enable employees, customers, and partners of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities to fully participate in GM’s all-electric future. That means there’s an opportunity to do more, be bolder and more intentional with our work. While the work that lies ahead will be challenging, it’s certainly possible. Here’s how I know: Our People: Our people are everything! We have smart, talented individuals throughout every part of this company. It’s a great time to work at GM as our business changes. The transformation happening across our entire company will last for decades – something we should be proud to be a part of, knowing we have the best people to get it done. Our Business: GM has an incredible legacy in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space. From our leadership to inclusive, accessible design to our supplier and dealer diversity programs, when we think customer, we also think inclusively. It’s in our DNA, which is one of many reasons why I joined the team. As a business driver, I know that this work will make a positive impact to invite customers of all backgrounds to be a part of our electrification future. Our Society: Everyone across GM’s footprint has a story about family, friends or community members who are connected to our organization, in some way. That means something. There is an unbelievable sense of pride to be a part of a company with such reach, rich history, a bright future, and one who is serious about its position as a unifying force for society. The lives we touch outside our walls are just as important as the people making a difference within our company. I look forward to steering GM into the next phase and growth of our DEI practice! I’m honored to take this torch and evolve this work even further. I am thankful to all of our teams across GM who will be on this journey with me. It will take all of us to make our goals a reality. We are better together! #GM #JUST100 #sustainability #DEI #workforce #automotive #IWorkForGM
