One of the main challenge of Floating Offshore Wind farms will be the maintenance and its associated costs. The remote location of offshore wind farms presents complexity in O&M with regular inspections more challenging due to difficulty in deploying technicians to carry out on-site inspections. This article is an interesting approach of this key maintenance issue. I am not an expert, just curious about energy world. I am however surprised by the last Exxon Mobil global outlook report which states: "The need to provide the reliable, affordable energy that drives economic prosperity and better living standards, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, will remain (in 2050) just as critical as it is today”. “Achieving this balance will require wind, solar, oil and natural gas, as well as nearly every other form of available energy – because access to energy drives human development and quality of life.” No mention of nuclear energy but strong statement about the necessity to continue investing in oil and gas to respond to the increasing demand due to global population increase. Another diagram from the report executive summary - https://lnkd.in/es5e25FS - shows an increase of nuclear production in the global energy mix from 5% in 2023 to 6% in 2050. ➡️ My question is: Why such a small increase while nuclear is a stable and decarbonized energy ? The Service Contract is the tool for transferring a portion of the risks associated to the service and for controlling the efficiency of the Contractor. ✅ This course allows all actors involved, Company, Contractors, sub-Contractors to better understand the contractual relationship, their rights and obligations. It gives a detailed review of the Contract and its main features. 🔵 The Technical Services Contractual Strategy explains what are the stakeholders and elements influencing the contractual Strategy of the Operator: The sustainable Purchasing/Contracting principles, Compliance and Ethics, the legal framework: The influence of the Patrimonial Agreement and the Local Content. 🔵 How are Contractors selected through the Call For Tender Process? What are the various types of bids used by the Operator? Who define the rules of the CFT? 🔵 Bid Analysis and Contractor Selection: Technical and Commercial evaluations – Bid opening philosophies. Bid comparisons, clarifications and contract award. This module will give indication on the methodology of cost definition and structure. It also explains the DIDACTIC negotiation method developed by #adinergy. The module reviews the whole Contractor selection process from the pre-qualification stage to the award of the Contract. 🔵 In a major section, the course goes though the typical terms of the Standard Technical Services Contract and details the clauses related to the Performance of the Contract, the Financial Conditions, the Liabilities and Insurances and the Legal Clauses.
