Humans and other animals require essential amino acids. The source may be animal, plant, fungi, synthetic... but the requirement stays the same. And dogs are not wolves. They diverged >20,000 years ago. Fossils of dog feces from the Bronze Age shows high number of reads for alpha-amylase - a starch digester. We can reduce factory farms by moving toward plant-based pet foods. My dog is thriving! https://lnkd.in/gfZ3Csmk

Anemia - No blood no immune system. Anemia is the lack of red blood pigment (hemoglobin). Hemoglobin, in turn, is an essential component of erythrocytes, binds oxygen and transports it from the lungs to the rest of the body. Anemia therefore affects the animal's general physical condition and immune system and also in general its welfare. Signs of this are pallor, reduced performance, and increased susceptibility to infection. Piglets in particular are at risk of becoming anemic when nursing. Why is that? – Follow our experts Yvonne Link or Maximilian Timpfler, Product Management Plexomin, for more information: y.link@phytobiotics.com or m.timpfler@phytobiotics.com Or visit the Plexomin product page >> https://bit.ly/3sTQV30 #Phytobiotics #FeedAdditives #animalfeed #Plexomin #anemia #immunesystem #piglets

Mycotoxins in horses Horses are post-gastric fermenters (enzymatical digestion followed by fermentation). Therefore, they are just as susceptible to mycotoxins as monogastric animals. In temperate regions horses are often kept indoors for part of the year. This will expose them to mycotoxins from moulds in straw. Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites of moulds, such as deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisin (FUM) and zearalenone (ZEN), and can be produced in the field during plant growth. Most occurrence mycotoxins in straw are Deoxynivalenol (DON) and Zearalenone (ZEN). DON causes e.g. reduced performance and increased occurrence of colics. Zearalenone affects the reproductive performance of mares and stallions. To master the diversity of mycotoxins the preventive use of an EU-approved mycotoxin inactivation product as standard in the feed is recommended. The MiaBond line contains complex components to deactivate also non-adsorbable mycotoxins such as DON and FUM. By investing in this additive, it is possible to buffer all mycotoxin contamination level in feed to reduce or prevent adverse health effects. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, my journey led me to the world of antimicrobial products. While working for a Global Brands Group/ Li & Fung the company, started producing AIRBAND, masks designed and intended to stop the spread of COVID-19. I managed the sales of that division. Although a good product, the addition of an effective antimicrobial was overlooked. as a lifelong snowboarder and exercise enthusiast, I completely understand the benefits of what an effective antimicrobial brings, for snowboarding. It was just so, my gear didn’t smell, but in a mask the elimination of bacteria or microbes made perfect sense. The goal was to stop the spread of a pathogen. The thought of finding an antimicrobial solution that was safe for daily wear became my passion. It had to be incredibly effective, gentle on the skin, stable on fabric, and, most importantly, effective against microbes. During my quest for a solution, and after much research, I came across a widely used antimicrobial with a 38-letter active Ingredient, 3-trimethoxysilylpropyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride. Only to discover that It's the most common antimicrobial used in the footwear industry and, it's generally undisclosed on manifests, bills of materials, or lists of ingredients. Surprisingly, it's EPA-registered, making it legal for companies to use, although the lack of transparency was concerning. At Purra, we took a different path. We searched for and found a safe, natural, and super-effective antimicrobial developed in Chile. Its active ingredient is ZINC. Yes, just four letters, the same Zinc you take when you catch a cold. It's in your food, in your blood, and even comes with a recommended daily allowance (RDA). Our commitment to transparency means you always know exactly what goes into our products. So, when your furry friend plays fetch with your socks or your new puppy turns your shoes into a chew toy, don't worry! The safe natural zinc antimicrobial embedded in Purra's products ensures a safer and healthier experience. We invite you to explore our superior products and see our independent lab test results. Join us in embracing the new standard in antimicrobial products! 💚 #PurraPerformance #AntimicrobialInnovation #ZincPower #SustainableLiving Douglas Sheridan, Caitlin Infantino, Chrissy Mauck, Jeff Burkley
