🌍 Embracing the Circular Carbon Economy with the ENLIVEN Project I’m thrilled to share our latest initiative, the ENLIVEN project, which is making strides towards achieving a circular carbon economy. This project is a testament to international collaboration, bringing together experts from the University of Padova (UNIPD) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The ENLIVEN project is focused on valorising CO2 via electrocatalytic CO2 reduction (ECR) reaction. We’re developing a new family of robust, conductive multi-composite thin films of metal-organic framework@covalent-organic framework (MOFs@COFs) supported on carbon nanofibres (CNFs). This innovative approach aligns with the principles of the circular carbon economy, which emphasizes the 4Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Remove by converting CO2 into fuels or chemical commodities. We believe that every step towards a circular carbon economy is a step towards a sustainable future. And we’re excited to be part of this journey. Stay tuned for more updates on the ENLIVEN project! #CircularCarbonEconomy #ENLIVENProject #Sustainability #CO2Reduction #MSCA #INCATGROUP

National Technical and Asset Manager Simon Montgomery chaired a panel discussion aimed at “Solving the challenge of embedded batteries” at yesterday’s Battery and Recycling Manufacturing Summit in Sydney. The panel explored the challenges presented by embedded batteries particularly as they relate to waste and recycling, and the possible solutions to those problems. Simon summarised the discussion saying, “Embedded batteries have become an integral part of our daily lives but the risks are not well understood by the community. The waste industry has seen fires in vehicles and facilities caused by the irresponsible disposal of embedded batteries in bins. This issue needs to be tackled at multiple levels and by a range of stakeholders including communities, regulators and product developers. The panel agreed that strong regulation, supported by a single point stewardship program to drive community education would be essential for success in managing embedded batteries and their associated risks.” The panel was represented by Janet Leslie, Chair, Australian Information Industry Association and Product Stewardship & Sustainability Manager, Canon Oceania, Warren Overton, CEO, Australia-New Zealand Recycling Platform ANZRP and Libby Chaplin, CEO Battery Stewardship Council and B-Cycle. The Summit hosted representatives from companies across the battery value chain, and was aimed at exploring investment, innovation and best practice in Australia’s battery recycling and manufacturing industry. #sustainablefuture
