Yesterday, I had the privilege of hosting Alex Her, Global Employer Brand Head of GoDaddy, who shared invaluable insights on "Beyond Buzzwords!
Building a Genuine Employee Advocacy Program for Impact" with our attendees.
Here are just some of the great key takeaways that I enjoyed from the session:
1️⃣ Authenticity is paramount in today's fast-paced world of AI and Automation. Leaders and employees must maintain their genuine selves to avoid sounding bland and indifferent.
2️⃣ Executives and C-Suite leaders need to lead by example and cascade the importance of advocacy programs across all teams. Providing employees with clear boundaries and tools fosters a safe environment for participation.
3️⃣ Address negative feedback openly and encourage constructive conversations to resolve issues. Focus on creating positive content for employees to share and amplify.
4️⃣ Leadership involvement is crucial for visibility and credibility. Advocacy programs require intentional management and trust-building among team members.
5️⃣ Don't expect advocacy programs to work automatically. Intentionality and proper management are key to success. Technology can enable but belief and trust within the team are fundamental.
6️⃣ Data and insights regarding ROI are essential for garnering buy-in from leadership. Make the case with tangible results.
7️⃣ Collaboration between marketing, comms, and advocacy teams is vital. Strong partnerships alleviate the burden and ensure success.
