The consortium, which includes FCC Construcción, #China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and Shibh Al Jazira Contracting Company, reports that 25% of the 8.7-km #tunnel has been completed. This tunnel forms a critical part of 'The #Spine'—an #infrastructure corridor designed to support high-speed and freight rail services that connect different sectors of NEOM, including the innovative regions of #TheLine and the #Oxagon area. This phase of #construction showcases not only the scale of the project but also the complexity involved in creating one of the world's largest transportation and utility infrastructures. With a workforce of 3,655 people from 39 different nationalities, and drilling at a rate of 1.2 km per month, the project exemplifies global cooperation and dedication. The tunnel project is significant for the region, promising enhanced connectivity and pioneering the use of sustainable materials. Excavated rock is being repurposed for use within the concrete lining of the tunnels, highlighting the project’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Neom Invites Tenders for Mirage Visitor Centre #Saudiarabia #Tenders #Construction #Infrastructure #Engineering #Project #Contractaward #Sustainability #Businessnews #Newsupdate #Neom Saudi Arabia’s Neom has floated a tender covering the main construction works for the Mirage visitor centre in the Gateway Cluster of Trojena. It is understood that the tender was issued in August with a deadline of 24 November for submitting bids. The Mirage visitor centre is a transit hub located at the development's lower plateau. Visitors will arrive using automated vehicles and transfer to the funicular railway, travelling through a tunnel passing the Vault and on to the various destinations within Trojena. US-based engineering firm Jacobs And Lebanon's Dar Al-Handasah are the project consultants. Bechtel is the project management consultant. In March Neom had sought interest from companies to develop the Mirage visitor centre. Earlier this month, firms were submitting bids for another tender covering the execution of the early works for the Mirage visitor centre. Neom issued the tender notice for the project on 20 August. The deadline for bid submissions was 4 September. The scope of work includes site clearance, decontamination, excavation, support installation, filling, monitoring and other associated works. A consortium of Saudi Archirodon Group N.V. and DEME Group has been awarded the second phase of transformation work for the Port of NEOM, the primary seaport of entry to northwest #saudiarabia Based in Oxagon, Port of Neom is strategically located along the coast of the #redsea and is adjacent to the nearby #suezcanal through which 13% of global trade passes. The port will be a critical enabler to the overall build, operations and economic ambitions of NEOM, facilitating the import of goods and materials during the development phase and as a new global port serving the region. The project will commence in December 2023. DEME will work in a consortium with leading international marine construction group Archirodon to deliver on the contract to form the basin that will enable the world’s largest ships to call at Port of NEOM. All materials recovered as part of the channel development will be used to support the wider development of Oxagon. MUSCAT: Coinciding with the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Rail, Oman Rail, and Mubadala Investment Company, signed a partnership agreement as shareholders marking the commencement of construction works of the joint railway project with immediate effect. An agreement was also signed to award the civil works and construction tender for the joint network to an Omani-Emirati alliance led by Trojan Construction Group (NPC) and Galfar Engineering and Contracting, aligning with joint efforts to build national capabilities and drive in-country value, which includes the involvement of the private sector in the implementation of the joint project.
