While I use Adobe products and have dabbled in AI, demonstrations like this give me pause. While the democratization of creativity and design is to be celebrated, this seems to be a move one step closer to marginalizing or even removing any artistic ability or necessity from design.
I know design isn't always art, but it can be. I've prided myself on honing my own artistic abilities and appreciate the role my artist background and pursuits play in my career. And while to some AI generated art will always have it's flaws and lack human detail and precision a: that is only temporary, technology doesn't stop and b: I would argue for most what AI is able to produce is"just fine". I would argue the average person could not differentiate AI from human creation.
All this to be said I'm not sure what my point is here, maybe as hand drawn animation gave way to pixar, I'm always disheartened to see the art world move on. I still have a soft spot for traditional art and at a minimum the fundamentals they can teach. So I guess seeing tools like this does make me resentful of those who can have amazing artistic and design ability at their fingertips without ever having to earn it through hard word or have the respect for the craft and those who still continue to try and push it forward.
Sweat equity matters and there's no substitutes for experience and ability.
