Can´t believe this was the process When we initially started digitizing 3D surfaces, everything was manual, and there was no automated process on the market. Create DIY setup with manual triggering and software pipeline consisting of Dabarti Capture, Lightroom, Photoshop, Substance Designer, 3Ds Max and Corona Renderer. In many less extreme ways, this process still exists. Studios and companies use various methods from eyeballing textures through simple photography/simple flatbed scanning with faking of maps up to photometric DIY setups. With TMAC PBR Ecosystem, we were able to standardize and streamline such a process - end-to-end. Taking away ambiguity and complexity of the pipeline providing capture consistency, working on more robust and precise PBR maps acquisition. Today, I experimented with Adobe After Effects' latest 3D features, focusing on how it now uses .HDR and .HDRI files for environment maps. This allows for more realistic lighting and shadow adjustments in our scenes. The use of Adobe Standard Material also helps in rendering 3D models consistently across Adobe and Substance products.
