🚀 Adobe Marketo Engage Wisdom Post 10/n 💡 In Marketo, Workspaces and Partitions are features that help organize and manage your marketing activities and data. While they offer significant benefits, navigating them can pose challenges. Here's how to tackle them effectively: ❗ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: 👉𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩: Defining the right structure for your workspaces and partitions requires careful planning and consideration of your organizational needs, data compliance regulations, and future scalability. 👉 𝐎𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Adding new workspaces, partitions, and assigning permissions can become complex, especially as your marketing efforts grow. 👉 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Users might find it confusing to navigate between different workspaces and understand which assets and data belong to them. 🚀 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: 👉 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥: Begin with a simple structure and gradually add complexity. Crawl..walk..run approach FTW! 👉 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲: Reasons for using workspaces and partitions, access control rules, and data management procedures. 👉 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬: Train users on navigating and using workspaces and partitions effectively. ✨ 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Partition Assignment Rules: Unsure about these in your instance? Test by creating records from various sources (e.g., list import, forms) and check the "Activity Log" for Smart Campaigns that assign partition membership. This helps identify and ensure the correct functioning of assignment rules and the campaigns that move people around the partitions. A well-organized Marketo instance is one of the crucial keys to unlocking success and achieving your marketing goals. ⚡ #adobe #marketo #marketingoperations #tips #marketing #automation #bestpractices

There are several different ways that Adobe Marketo connects to third party applications. But what's the most efficient way to connect your instance to the software you want to use? Whether you're receiving 50 or 5,000 leads a day from another application makes a real difference in the connection you set up and the experience for your audience and your team. In this article Michael Tucker outlines how to set up a LaunchPoint connection. What are the order of operations? How do you use this connection within your Marketo instance? Oh, and once your connection is set up, how do you monitor it to ensure that it's working properly and not causing problems with your leads in Marketo? #MarketingAutomation #MarketoMinutes #DigitalMarketing

Adobe Marketo Wisdom 6/n 💡 If you're not seeing people who should be flowing through a campaign not qualify through it and flow through its flow, then before jumping on any conclusions and a de-bugging spree, check out the Campaign Queue in case the campaign is being queued up for processing. To give you a background, when a flow is launched, Marketo assigns it a priority and then queues it for execution. This priority is based on how the campaign was launched (batch, trigger, resume from Wait) and what's in the flow. Marketo then executes campaigns based on priorities. The execution order follows these priorities: high-priority campaigns kick off first, then medium-priority ones, and so on, until completion. Under heavy load, your campaign processing might get delayed, and that doesn't mean there's a bug in the campaign or the person didn't qualify. However, there might be a scope to make the campaign more efficient, and potentially override its default execution priority (in the case of a trigger campaign) if you want it to be executed first. And here's a tip: skip the Results tab and dive directly into the person's Activity Log instead; sometimes, data takes a few minutes to populate in the campaign's Results tab. Understanding these nuances in campaign execution can help manage expectations and troubleshoot more effectively. Remember, it's not always a bug; sometimes, it's just the campaign patiently waiting its turn in the processing queue! #marketo #adobe #tips #marketingoperations #marketing #campaign #processing

A couple of days since Adobe Summit was taking place in Vegas and many exciting announcements were made (Adobe Sapphire, anyone?!) 🚀 For those of us who were participating online and might have been to busy to catch all the relevant sessions, we've asked our very own Tom Hemy to share his Adobe Virtual Summit Highlights 2024. Drum Roll for Tom and his insights part 1... 🥁🪄 here we go: 💡 Session: Deploying Marketo in 139 countries 🔔 There's no one-size-fits-all approach for a multi-country Marketo implementation. Especially as Global teams tend to have significant resources, and many markets differ in size, with some having well-established marketing departments, but others having only a single person who may not even spend all their time on marketing 🔔 Key difficulties are that: people are often set in their ways and don't like change, systems (such as email software and CRM) are not connected leading to inefficient manual tasks, and a lack of awareness that the solution even exists 🔔 To combat these, the solution needs to be scalable: Utilising things like a Center of Excellence, managing access through the use of Workspaces & Partitions, and having a recognized structure of how Marketo is laid out (this is then replicated everywhere) 🔔 Deployment needs to come in stages. Starting often with a single market and staggering deployments through territories. This should be aided with "hands-on" training resources (that are also available on-demand). Power users should also be identified for championing the software and fostering a 'train-the-trainer' approach 🔔 Importantly, you need to emphasize building a community of users who can help each other and learn together 💡 Session: Is your Marketing Operations Team Ready? 🔔 Tech is changing rapidly and, while everyone gets excited about a new toy, managers tend to forget about who will use the software on a day-to-day basis, manage the software, and control its adoption - this normally falls to marketing ops teams 🔔 When a company is thinking about implementing software, the "technical" discussion normally drives the process. People often discuss: why the software is being considered, what they're trying to achieve, and what problem it will solve. A lack of attention is sometimes paid to "Is the marketing operations team ready to own and manage this software"? 🔔 Marketing and sales need to be aligned: what defines an MQL, have a good scoring model that is proven to work 🔔 Campaign implementation needs to be optimized 🔔 The current Marketing Tech Stack needs to be seamlessly implemented 🔔 Solid reporting infrastructure needs to be in place Are you keen to discuss any of the topics/challenges mentioned above? Reach out to your Onemedia Consulting GmbH Expert or directly to Tom Hemy! If you have watched the sessions (or even participated live) - what was your highlight of this year's summit? 🧠❤️ #adobesummit

🚀 Adobe Marketo Engage Wisdom Post 9/n 💡 Campaign membership, a pivotal piece of your marketing strategy and reporting, has a lifecycle of up to 25 months in Marketo. Smart Lists, campaigns, and reports employing the “Member of Smart Campaign” filter will not be able to reference the campaign membership after the retention period. While the above might not be news to most users, this might be: most activity information can be exported through the Bulk Extract REST API, but there's a catch. Campaign membership activity can't be! If you foresee the need to reference "Member of Smart Campaign" activity beyond the 25-month mark, consider adding members to a static list. This becomes your reference hub for activities that transcend the 25-month timeline, offering continuity in your ability to reference the campaign members. 💯 #marketo #adobe #marketingautomation #tips #api #marketingoperations #bestpractices
