I've been preaching the gospel of Bitcoin for seven long years, and let me tell you, I've seen it all. I've seen the doubters, the haters, the ones who thought Bitcoin was just a passing trend. But guess what? Bitcoin could have give you freedom for the rest of your life, and if you don't recognize that, you're about to get left in the dust. You think you can mock Bitcoin, call it a scam, laugh it off like it's some kind of joke? Well, let me tell you something, Bitcoin ain't just money. It's power. It's freedom. Yesterday was what's known as Bitcoin Pizza Day. Here's the quick scoop: 14 years ago, Laszlo Hanyecz bought two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC ($41). Today, that’s $700 million! 🍕🤯 Bitcoin was just 1.5 years old in 2010, a curiosity among cryptographers, computer nerds, and a few libertarians. Back then, Bitcoin was worth less than a penny, hard to get, and even harder to give away. People created "bitcoin faucets" to distribute it for free! Laszlo Hanyecz posted on BitcoinTalk, asking, "Pizza for bitcoins?" After some effort, he traded 10,000 BTC for two pizzas, marking the world's most expensive pizza purchase! From May to August 2010, Laszlo spent 100,000 BTC on pizzas, worth $7 billion today. Jeremy Sturdivant, who received the 10,000 BTC, spent it while traveling the US, showing the early spirit of Bitcoin. Laszlo, a pioneer in GPU mining, contributed significantly to Bitcoin’s early development and even communicated with Satoshi Nakamoto. Despite the massive value of those pizzas today, Laszlo has no regrets, cherishing his role in Bitcoin’s history.
