I train and coach parents and professionals to use neurodiversity-informed coaching skills to improve life and relationships.
Are you confounded or confused by the term Executive Function? Like you should know what it means but it's not so easy to define? Or do you find yourself asking, "why can't they just ..." when neurospicy people in your life (partners, colleagues, or especially kids) do things that just don't make sense to you? If so, chances are that executive function (EF) is underlying some of those challenging behaviors. Whatever your reason for better understanding EF, there's no one who curates that conversation better than Seth Perler. His annual, online TEFOS event starts in 10 days (Aug 9). It's predominantly focused on Executive Function Back-to-School issues -- and it's a wealth of information! If you're an adult (parent or professional) who could stand to better understand EF, this free event is worth the registration and a great way to support the neurospicy people in your world! Diane Dempster and I from ImpactParents will be speaking -- along with an always-extraordinary roster of guests! Link below to find out more.
Parents, check out this Executive Function Event.

𝟯 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽... 1️⃣ 𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱? No. It isn't. Free bacon butty hunters need not apply. We charge our clients for the same private workshops, bit sh*t of us to give it away for free elsewhere isn't it. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲? This ain't a sit down, take notes and shut up type of event. Be ready to get involved. We are good - but deliverying an interactive workshop over Zoom just ain't gonna' work. 3️⃣ 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? Yes. We will be rolling out other dates and locations very soon. Nerdy B2B property content writer making life easier for built environment businesses + comms teams. Pleasure to work with, apparently. Copywriter | Editor | Content strategy & review | Media training | Moderator
Events have always been an important part of the property calendar, but there seems to be a renewed appetite for them post-COVID. And I'm increasingly getting asked to cover panels as part of my media training. Whether you've been invited, volunteered, or managed to grab a spot as a panel sponsor, you want to come across well. And that means doing some prep. One of the things I always advise is to ask the organisers questions. When I moderate, I like to make sure all the panellists know what to expect and feel comfortable; we've normally had a pre-event call to run through things. If there isn't a call, you can still ask about the format, who the audience is, whether there are specific talking points, etc. All this information will help you prepare, and being prepared will help you relax and enjoy it – and come across better. Have you been on a panel? What advice would you give? (And yes, that is me in action during MIPIM, sometime pre-COVID.)

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN DKG ILLINOIS THE WEEK OF JULY 21-JULY 27, 2024 “Create Spaces in DKG Gatherings Where Members Feel Physically and Emotionally Safe, Accepted, Appreciated, and Heard.” I hope we all can strive to make sure that our members feel safe, appreciated, accepted, and heard. We must all work together to appreciate the needs of our members. We are a diverse group who have different expectations and through allowing each member to be heard, we can achieve a sense of belonging. This week we have several activities. On Sunday at 5 p.m. central we have Solutions Sunday. If you are having behavioral problems with students, come to learn about possible solutions and resources. This week, Lisa Cipriano has lots of resources for us. Then on Tuesday evening, do you have children or grand- children who procrastinate in school or at home? Come on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. central for a workshop on procrastination. Then on Thursday morning there will be a great opportunity to learn how to do hybrid meetings. Some people will join Linda Adcock at her home at 9:30 a.m. central time (address below and for exact directions, call Linda) and some of us will join on Zoom at 10 a.m. Sy Stern, International Membership director and Pat Rinkenberger, State Membership Chair will teach us how to do effective hybrid meetings. This a wonderful opportunity for all of us. POP UP EVENTS If you looked at one of the Facebook posts, you saw that Beta Phi is having Pop Up Events. YEA, BETA PHI. They are having one that is a field trip. A member decides they want to go and do something, so they say to other chapter members, “Hey you want to join me?” Whoever wants to join goes along. What fun. It occurred to me that we can do those on Zoom also. As long as you give me two-weeks- notice and want to have a pop- up event on Zoom, we can do that. Maybe you just finished a terrific project or want to share something you learned about tech or you want to share a great teaching idea, we can have a Pop Up Event.
