Adstra Nonprofit was a very proud sponsor and supporter of BrightFocus Foundation's Benefit Concert for Cures in Nashville last week! This extraordinary gathering shined a light on the exemplary scientists that are driving exciting research forward to end Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Tom Fleming, Adstra's SVP, Donor Acquisition got in the spirit, along with Stacy Pagos Haller, President and CEO at BrightFocus Foundation! #brightfocusfoundation #nonprofit #donors #research

I help nonprofits deepen connections to constituents, donors, & employees through empathy and storytelling.🍋 | Messaging & Content Strategy | Strategic Communications | Engagement & Growth | Fundraising
❓Are there too many nonprofits? (2 M and counting). ❓Are too many small orgs springing up and should that energy go into supporting existing ones? ❓Should there be more mergers? We got into a very interesting discussion about nonprofit landscape. 🖤I will absolutely acknowledge that some orgs address new or unique needs that are not being addressed. 🖤Some orgs commemorate loved ones and are deeply emotional. While I sincerely empathize with intent, I still see these as competing for dollars and volunteers while it is extremely difficult to stand up a viable operation. 😮I looked at Guidestar and typed in search “cancer” - 12,991 results. In fairness a few of these reference cancer but not soley focused on it. Most are cancer orgs from ACS and Komen to very local ones. There are without a doubt inefficiencies and competition for funds. So how do we maximize collective impact and allow families to carry forward a legacy of their loved ones? #nonprofit #philanthropy Andrew Olsen

well done making a difference
Last fall, when we opened The Domino’s Village at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I was profoundly moved knowing that this milestone was made possible through the generosity and extraordinary kindness of our customers across the country. Today, as we share that over $16 million was donated to St. Jude in 2023, I am reminded of that deep sense of gratitude. This remarkable achievement is a testament to our purpose to Feed the Power of Possible – where spare change and small donations, taken collectively, have provided a home and support for countless families bravely battling childhood cancer. I am immensely grateful to our customers, franchisees, and to St. Jude for their leadership in the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer. Together, we are making a difference, one pizza - and one donation - at a time. #Dominos #StJude #FeedThePowerOfPossible

At the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara, we make it a priority to stay current with philanthropic trends to effectively engage and inspire our audience. As younger generations lead a new era of giving, we are adapting to meet their expectations and values. According to the Forbes article, "The Future Of Giving: Trends Shaping Next-Gen Philanthropy," "90% of those surveyed [Millennials] state they are more motivated to give by a compelling mission and would stop giving if they distrusted an organization… and 24% have donated after learning about a cause on social media." https://lnkd.in/g4CDZZ_t To cultivate and preserve the trust of next-gen donors, our team focuses on maintaining #transparency, growing our social media presence, sharing real-life stories, and highlighting the tangible #impact of our donors' contributions. For example, each year we post the Cancer Foundation's IRS Form 990 and a detailed annual report on our website, which we encourage #donors to review. By integrating these strategies, we aim to foster lasting relationships with young donors and make a measurable difference in our community.

🌟 Exciting News & A Call for Support! 🌟 After a refreshing family holiday where I focused on connecting my kids with their relatives, I’m back on LinkedIn with a purpose-driven challenge. At The Transformation Group, we’re fortunate to align our professional values with meaningful causes. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be supporting our primary charity partner, Tour de Cure Australia, by taking on a personal challenge: running 50km to raise funds for cancer research with Suncorp Group the sponsor of the event. Having recently completed a 450km cycling challenge, this run feels like a different kind of uphill battle without the luxury of training. The cause hits close to home as my wife’s family has recently faced a heartbreaking loss due to cancer. This run is dedicated to all the families affected by this disease, and I’m committed to giving it my best shot despite my fears of injury (currently dealing with two strained calf muscles so can't run more than 8k). Here’s where I’d deeply appreciate your support: Donations: Every contribution helps us get closer to a cure. Training Tips: With only 2 weeks to prepare, any advice on running, nutrition, or injury prevention would be incredibly valuable. Moral Support: Just knowing you’re cheering me on would mean the world! Feel free to contribute or share your insights via the link below. Let’s come together to make a difference! https://lnkd.in/gRajRPQ2 - team of 1 Thank you for your support and encouragement! #CharityChallenge #CancerResearch #RunningForACause #SupportAndDonate #MakeADifference

This month we are featuring Wolfiethon Team Captian Director, Sofia Mulligan. Keep reading to learn more about Sofia’s involvement and dedication to the cause on her campus, Stony Brook University 🎗️ ⭐ Q: What inspired you to get involved with Wolfiethon/B+? A: Upon meeting my org’s B+ Hero, Sabrina, I knew Wolfiethon was something I wanted to become more involved with because the impact we have is so tangible and profound. I went on to become my sorority’s team captain, which gave me the opportunity to grow closer with B+ Hero Sabrina and see how our hard work and fundraising manifests to help families with children fighting cancer. I’m now part of the Wolfiethon Executive Board for the 2024-25 academic year! ⭐ Q: What is your best fundraising tip? A: Leverage your personal connections by sharing your story and passion for the cause— bring it back to WHY you’re raising money. Personalizing your outreach makes it more compelling and encourages others to contribute! ⭐ Q: What is the greatest lesson you've learned from your involvement with B+? A: The greatest lesson I’ve learned is the power of community and collaboration— when people come together with a shared goal, they can make a significant impact on individual lives. Even the smallest of contributions can make a huge impact! ⭐ Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to get more involved with B+? A: Familiarize yourself with The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation: their mission, goals, and initiatives (you can learn a lot by visiting their website or their Instagram or Facebook pages). The next step would be to try to connect with organizations that have partnered with B+ at your school, and contribute in any way that you can— volunteer, fundraiser or donate, spread awareness, and participate in events!

Ride of Hope Coordinator @ The Terry Fox Foundation | Fundraising, Volunteer Management - National Sales Representative @ Kokatat - Western Canadian Sales Rep @Delta Kayaks + Seals Sprayskirts + Werner Paddles
Excellent advice for anyone in leadership from Michael Rossi the Chair of the The Terry Fox Foundation, Board of Directors. "When you say the word control, I think of the flip side, which is trust. When you have great people in the organization and as you said, when the visions align and you trust them to operate the business, the charity, or the foundation, then your role automatically is a different one. It is advice, its guidance, it’s strategic oversight. It’s very different." https://lnkd.in/gc9zw2GF
