Although people may get involved and invested, communities often don't see significant improvements in social sustainability. Achieving real progress requires strong leadership with a clear vision, specific goals, and a focus on developing people to meet those goals. Without this, efforts often fall short due to a lack of direction and the necessary development of those involved.
“If you give people skin in the game, as Lisa Nandy says, then they will make decisions and make things happen for themselves in their communities,” We spoke to Louisa Mitchell MBE (AllChild), CEO of AllChild, about the government's commitment to walking alongside charities and volunteer groups Have your say in the consultation: https://lnkd.in/eVFTakqa

With the General Election looming, we formed the Children’s Charities Coalition with Barnardo's, NSPCC, Action for Children, and the National Children's Bureau. We had one goal in mind: To give young people a seat at the table of decision-making. Since then, we’ve worked together to platform young people’s voices and ensure that their opinions, needs, and concerns are heard on a national level. One young person has recorded a video about the impact of the Children’s Charities Coalition, and the importance of involving young people in government decisions 👇 To learn more about the impact the coalition has had, read the full report: https://lnkd.in/evj35_Nm #ChildrenAtTheTable

An estimated 75% of Americans make gifts to charities during their lives, but fewer than 10% plan for gifts at death. When these generous people are asked, “Why did you give to charities during life but didn’t plan to give to charities at death?” they usually respond “I wasn’t asked.” Nonprofits who receive gifts at death (also known as legacy gifts) are asking for these gifts. But they aren’t asking randomly, they are asking intentionally. Here are a few ways you can start intentionally inviting legacy gifts if you aren’t already: 🗨️ Use “family words” during donor visits to discuss donor’s gift plans 🗨️ Integrate legacy giving education into your year-round communication plan 🗨️ Use my client’s favorite “Have You Remembered Ad” (download and customize it for free with the link in comments)
