I have been on LinkedIn for a couple of years now in the insurance space. I am really surprised by how few people from the carrier and broker sides are talking about issues. Initially I thought there was some “cool kids club,” like in high school. Maybe they were hanging out and posting somewhere else. Is this what’s going on? There is no post by a desk adjuster giving tips on how to make the insured’s claim easier  to handle so it gets a speedy resolution. No tricks on how to get a return phone call from a hard-to-reach adjuster. I do not see roof adjusters talking about the best roofing shoes. Are Cougar Paws really that good? No insurance industry commentary on appraisals and how to make them proceed faster and more smoothly. Has the industry imposed some sort of gag order, or do I need to tweak my feed some more? #insuranceclaims #insuranceindustry

Have you heard of the Augusta Rule? The August Rule, known as Section 280a to the IRS, allows homeowners to rent out their home for up to 14 days per year without needing to report the income. I think it is pretty obvious as to the how it received it's friendly name, The Augusta Rule. Even though the Masters has passed I bet there are quite a few houses being rented out in Kentucky this week for the PGA Championship. Same goes for next month at Pinehurst.
