Transforming Organisational Culture By Creating High Performing Teams! #Leadership #Culture #Teamcoaching #Performance #Results #ROI
Sexism and misogyny - a societal issue yes. Well run and effective organisations take the temperature of their culture on a regular basis. What does your #accountability framework look like, do you even have one? Healthy cultures perform well, why? Because they maximise ALL the talent and skills in their organisation, do you? Here are a few questions which, as part of your #LeadersReflections, you may find useful. 1. What do your leaders do to develop confidence in reporting sexist behaviour including sexual harassment? 2. How do your leaders consistently promote, support and reinforce ethical behaviour? 3. What do your supervisors do to actively encourage use of the Code of Ethics (or similar) in everyday work activity? 4. To what extent is internal misconduct data used to establish patterns of behaviour? 5. How is behaviour that falls short of misconduct recorded? How are individual and collective patterns of such behaviour identified and acted upon? 6. Which learning and development interventions include anti sexual harassment inputs? Do these interventions cover all staff throughout your organisation? How do you check on understanding? 7. How does your organisation record lessons learnt specifically with regards to sexism, sexual harassment and misogynistic issues? How is good practice identified and disseminated? 8. How does your organisation ensure structures and systems prevent inequality and exclusion? 9. How confident are you that your HR case management staff understand the meaning of sexual harassment and what this looks like in practice? What training do you provide HR staff to deal with issues of this nature confidently and effectively? 10. How do you prevent the isolation and victimisation of those reporting? 11. To what extent can your staff articulate their understanding of misogyny, sexism, and sexual harassment, including the impact on those affected? 12. How do you ensure your staff can clearly articulate and demonstrate what ‘zero tolerance’ means? You're welcome! #crossingtheline #sexism #policing #fca #sexism https://lnkd.in/eij5k9pc

Ways I’ve been treated “equally” by men during my legal career: 😵 Screamed at / sworn at 😵 Physically intimidated (see above) 😵 Hit in the face (no joke - on a work night out) 😵 Having to listen to lad banter where I was the only woman in the room - about strippers; mocking a pregnant colleague; commenting on a female colleague’s body; a game of “f**k / marry / kill” In all cases, other men knew or were there and did nothing. And this still goes on, all the time. IWD NEWSFLASH 1: ⚠️ Equal treatment isn’t about men treating men as they do other men. I can’t change the water cooler because I’m not as strong as you. I don’t know that yelling is where your aggression will end at 11pm at night at the office when no one else is around. And I can’t physically defend myself if it does go further than that. These are thoughts that go through all women’s heads, all the time. IWD NEWSFLASH 2: ✅ Equal treatment is about seeing and acknowledging differences and adjusting your behaviour accordingly. And not breaking the law 😬 If men want to be allies they need to call each other out on this early on when they see subtle micro behaviours so it doesn’t compound into roaring and slapping. And become generally acceptable (and ignored). We are fundamentally scared of you. Wise up and let’s stop all this wild, normalised work behaviour. PS What “equal” treatment have you been subjected to at work? #IWD2024 #internationalwomensday #irishtechgc

The increase in sex before employment and promotion is worrying🤧. No one is speaking about it😑 Sometimes, people feel forced to do sexual things to get a job or a promotion😒. This is wrong and hurts people's dignity. It happens because some companies don't have clear rules against it. Also, victims might be scared to speak up😖. To stop this, companies need strong rules against it and clear consequences for those who do it. They should also teach employees and managers about it and make it safe for victims to report it. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, no matter what🙂. 😒when the person in charge is involved in such behaviour, it can make it harder for companies to address the issue😔. When leaders set a bad example or tolerate this kind of behavior😑, it can create a culture where it's seen as okay, which is very harmful. But even in these tough situations, it's important for employees and others to speak up and push for change✌🏽. Sometimes, pressure from both inside and outside the company can force them to take action🤭. Every voice matters in standing up against such injustices😉. #harassment #Injustice

This #IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia Biphobia and Transphobia) we thought we would repost our CSO's Forbes piece about how #Neurodiversity is #TransInclusive and the importance of psychological safety at work for #LGBTQIAplus people Read more 👇 https://lnkd.in/eBBYnPEf "To accept one aspect of an employee's identity whilst ignoring another is hurtful, breeding psychological unsafety and increasing the requirements to mask one or both aspects, which in turn leads to burnout." #IDAHOBIT24 #TransPeopleAreLoved #IDAHOBIT2024

Intersex refers to a range of natural biological variations in sex characteristics, and it is not always a medical emergency. People can get sick or develop medical emergencies regardless of their sex characteristics or gender because health conditions affect everyone. Illnesses such as infections, chronic diseases, injuries, and genetic disorders can occur in anyone. #IntersexAwareness #Intersex #FAQ #IntersexNigeria #Explore

Signs of toxic work cultures: Sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, heteronormativity, and other ways of maintaining power are tactics those at the top use to keep the status quo.The field is male-dominated or attracts people who want to impact the world (doctors, nurses, teachers, government workers, social workers) — which also attracts people who want to dominate others they mistakenly perceive as weak. We're tired of it. Sign the petition: https://lnkd.in/eWjVpxEH #EndWorkplaceAbuse

What would you do? "Put a muzzle on ya woman!” There’s a lot of talk about some derogatory comments made by a participant in a popular reality TV show – and why no one spoke out against the behaviour. How would you react if you heard someone speaking like that? There are legitimate psychological reasons why people may not respond or speak out against behaviour that is actually really against their own personal beliefs. Not least of which is personal safety. Cultural Change Bystander Training looks at the drivers behind such derogatory and sexist behaviour and why people may not respond or speak out against behaviour they do not agree with. The Training, which has a focus on Gender Based Violence prevention, including sexual harassment and domestic violence, provides a range of options that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can draw from to interrupt harmful and abusive behaviour.
